Has anyone had the unfortunate experience of being offered the Creme de Pain breakfast snack? I was offered it twice on the SYD-MEL / MEL-SYD legs last week.

The object is a bouncy rubbery bread snack filled with an unidentifiable cream paste. I think I saw 3 people accept the snack.

Is this a VA cost cutting policy? Serve horrible snacks that people won't eat.

Ya, I ended up having to eat it yesterday because I was really late reaching the airport and could not eat in the lounge.
Well on brighter side, it is better than the "Jam cookie" snack served on my last two flights when flying back in the afternoon.

Are you sure it wasn't meant to be Pain de Creme? Creme de Pain literally translates as "bread cream" (i.e. a cream that is meant for bread, or a cream that is made out of bread)

The description sounds a lot like that of a Twinkie (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twinkie)

I was starving and ate one of these yesterday CBR-BNE. Gross. It was both soggy and a little frozen. Will take a pic next time.

Yes, I have been on a few flights where this has been offered....yuck! This is the worst snack offering since that rubbery faux (soy) cheese with the cardboard "crackers".
