Hotel comments come to light...

Hmmmm. Mine shows the comment (about expected arrival time) from a booking I made at a US hotel. That booking was about the fourth or fifth last booking I made on the Hilton website. And it seems to automatically show up no matter which property I go to book. I can't see any secret internal comments (eg. 'pushy Hilton Macquarie member, assign cough room') anywhere.

Same here, but the comments in mine were typed by someone at a hotel but I really can't remember when.

After my last visit to the Hilton Surfers Paradise, I was really expecting some comments, similar to yours but maybe not the word "Pushy" ;) perhaps something a little stronger like "LOWEST FLOOR POSSIBLE CLOSE TO ELEVATOR: TWIN ROOM ONLY"

In the defence of HOTP, they did look after Mrs F very well, and I would think they will be watching their comments in the future they place on guests bookings.
However, as other have suggested, I wonder if I go & alter comments in future bookings, what would happen..... "VIP GUEST:EF Privileges:Suite where possible"

As I said I don't think that is necessary - 4/4 since the new rules came in regarding suites being available to upgrade into.

I can see you are doing OK with them Simon, but as she is booking through Engencia, this is her first since December.... And only because I rang up to discuss it.

I have seen these comments on making new bookings occasionally - at Hilton York when making the booking it mentioned my MyWay choices for upgrades, etc.

Usually when I go back and look at my bookings, on the comments section, it just says "Comments: On file".

Are people able to look at their comments section when reviewing previously booked bookings?

Not directly ... as you noted - it appears when doing new bookings made in the same session after you have reviewed an existing booking.

Excellent trick, just found this in the comments field for an upcoming visit to Bangkok:
20% OFF DISC DINING AT ALL OUTLETS, EXCEPT IN-RM DINING *ETA 1225H ETD 1600H :EXECUTIVE FLOOR BENEFITS:UPGRADE

I am an HH Gold; so anything which makes an Exec floor upgrade appear more likely is a good thing.

I've checked mine.....

Yikes
HOTP - "Must Show Valid Gov ID"
HSP - "TURNDOWN REQUEST:NP - GOLD COAST BULLETIN"

Get the GOV ID one... although have never been actually asked. What's with hilton surfers comments?
