Looking for some recommendations for some hotels in July.

Probably something around the AUD$300 - 360 / night mark close to transport and some of the main attractions.

In NYC I've stayed at the Holiday Inn hotel in Midtown.

The Marriott Marquis in Times Square. Right in the middle of the action.

Premier Inn has very nice hotels throughout London. They are priced reasonably, particularly if you book a long way ahead. All have nice bars/restaurants attached. There are a couple near Kings Cross station or others closer to the Thames if you prefer but you pay more. I suggest you stay away from the Travelodge chain.

Close to the Champs Eleyees in Paris is ideal for getting around and pretty central to most attractions. If you are interested I can suggest a lovely apartment through Airbnb.

Suggest you stay away from Times Square in New York because it's too expensive. We had the hotel from hell. Down near Wall Street are some nice hotels at very reasonable cost.

I'm assuming you are travelling for leisure and have based my suggestions on that!

We stayed in Paris at the Bradford Élysées just near the Champs Élysées wonderful hotel, they are part of a chain, so maybe check out the other hotels, can't recall cost, but was not cheap, but wonderful hotel, highly recommend. New York stayed in the Grand Hyatt, just above Grand Central Station so ideal location, but was pricey, but where isn't in New York. In London check out Apex Hotels they have about 2 or 3 in London, have stayed in their Edinburgh property and was impressed.

As a former resident of NY I would recommend staying away from the Square. Better off getting a hotel next to a 3 train station. Somewhere like 34th Street W near Penn Station will let you escape from the worst of the mid-town crazy that happens all day every day. It also keeps you near transfer stations so you can get to 42nd and Times Square if you want but without always having to fight through the rest of the tourists slamming into the entrances and exists of the 42nd st stop. The hotels in that area are also more affordable.

If you want to go the other way I recommend Columbus Circle. Only one stop on the express 3 train to Times Square and you can stay in some of the more upmarket hotels there (the MO however is overpriced).

That's a healthy budget which gives lots of options. I'm also looking at London in July and it's not cheap. I'm Accor Plat and looking at Pullman Kings cross but I think Double Tree in the West End has reasonable rates. In Paris I've stayed at a couple of wonderful SLH properties - L'Hotel and Pavilion de la Reine. In NYC I like to walk to theatres so stay near Times Square and can recommend Sheraton club rooms. Novotel is an OK option as is the Hilton Garden Inn.

I've stayed at Gansevoort Park Avenue (NY) and Hilton Park Lane (London) and both were good. Not sure if they are within budget these days.

I went with the double tree hilton in hyde park in London and Holiday Inn for the rest.
See how we go

I like the hustle and bustle of staying in the Times Square, especially if you're doing a lot of walking. Stayed once at the Sofitel and twice at the Novotel, prefer the Novote, not only cheaper, but better views, and more central.
