I've got to visit someone in SIN sometime in the first quarter next year. I've been looking back and it seems I've never actually booked a SYD-SIN return, it always ends up part of a bigger trip.

The current "Global Deal" from SYD is $918 return. Does QF ever get much cheaper than that? Just trying to work out if I should hold out a little. There's no real rush on this one.

Will keep an eye on this thread as going to either HKG or SIN in Feb and onto MNL

Back in October 25th they had $888 BNE-SIN return, I assume that Sydney would have been the same. I can't recall seeing Qantas advertising it cheaper than that this year. Even when other airlines had fares around $799 to Singapore, Qantas did not match them.

That's the cheapest that I've seen it - when each leg is in the ~$400s (inc. taxes), there are only ever a small number of seats available at that price.

... last time that I saw it that cheap, I triple-checked that it was actually a QF flight and not just QF-marketed on JQ, but it was QF indeed :D

And I've just checked the specific fare class prices for you for this sale, to give you an idea of the increments that their systems will increase pricing by as more tickets are sold.

Taxes are $409.84

Return fare/fare bucket
$508 O
$608 N
$839 V
$938 L
$1068 M
$1288 K

If you don't have ExpertFlyer access and want me to check O class availability on a specific flight and date, just let me know and I'm happy to check for you :)

That being said, my verdict is buy buy buy! It looks like this pricing level is scheduled to be removed from their system on December 6 when the prices return to normal.

From memory ~$900 is the cheapest I have seen SYD-SIN.

Coming back the other way though is a different story and I have seen the airfare below $800 many times and the most important part is taking seasonality out of the equation.

I ended up booking it this afternoon. Of course, I nearly fell off my chair when I got the "special fares to SIN" email about 45 minutes afterwards, however it was the same $920ish price.

Oddly enough, I could get over on a SYD-SIN flight, however coming back the SIN-SYD options were dramatically more expensive, so I'm stuck going SIN-ADL-SYD. Probably not the ideal route (SIN-ADL is pretty short, so it's not a good "sleep" flight) however it picks up a few more SC's.

$700 is the cheapest I've ever seen Perth - Singapore return with Qantas. It was as low as $749 over the weekend. Still not good enough value for me to buy it though. Mumbai was much better value, $849 for 100 status credits AND then you can have the stop over in Singapore.

Nowhere near as inexpensive as from SIN...

If you fly more than once every 12 months, arrange your travel exSIN (or exHKG)

You'll wander more happily

Although not much use for the OP now... with the sale that ended a few days ago the price from the east coast (SYD,MEL,BNE) to SIN did get down to $799 return. This the lowest I have seen it this year.

Jagged a flight in May-11 ADL-SIN for $688 from the BA website. Flight was on Qantas metal.
