How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Property: Conrad SIN
Status: Diamond
Date: December 2016 (4 nights)
Rate: 2 nights flash sale, 2 nights points
Booked: Executive twin with extra bed
Received: Executive twin with extra bed
Amenity: Chocolates, fruit (orange and 2 apples :s)

No upgrade as it was full, so given a $10 box of chocolates as an amenity. Executive lounge is quite literally a zoo. Had 3x breakfasts in Oscars, last day in the lounge to see what it's like - big mistake. Only "scrambled" eggs available (clearly made from a mix), very limited range with seemingly 100+ guests trying to cram in.

Also didn't get the normal sized Conrad teddy bear, rather a tiny little keyring one :(

A bonus is car watching if you're a fan - there is a supercar-for-rent setup nearby so there's some nice cars in the area at any time. Ubers can have trouble finding their way in, as it is a bit confusing around the convention centre.

Property: Conrad Bali
Status: Gold
Date: 17-22 December 2016, two rooms - two adults and one baby/ toddler each
Rate: US$998.25 each room (flash sale including breakfast, booked Apr 2016)
Booked: Deluxe King Ocean Front
Received: Deluxe King Ocean Front
Amenity: Chocolates, fruit basket. Lounge benefits for three nights (see below)

No upgrade was available and we were told that the upgrade would have been to Deluxe King Lagoon rooms. We were told to come back two days later to see whether lagoon rooms are available, and that they would block two rooms for us. Two days later, no upgrade was possible so we received lounge benefits (afternoon tea and evening coughtails) for both rooms instead, which we felt was much better. Due to the executive lounge not accessible for children under 12 years, we had to use the East Lobby Bar but that was absolutely fine.

The rooms were great and the service impeccable. Baby cots were delivered a few minutes after our arrival, complete with a basket containing baby products, such as shampoo, nappies and wet wipes. The monkey and the turtle were there, too.

Overall, we enjoyed the property and the pool area was awesome, plus it was excellent to have tennis courts. Having said that, the beach is a huge disappointment so if that is important, other locations are probably better: we spent a day in Nusa Dua before our flight back and the beach there is much nicer. After the Conrad, we headed to Ubud for four nights, using AirBnB, and I admit it is unlikely we will return to Bali.

Booked: Family room (basic room)
Received: Family room with breakfast for 2 only

Review : Not very good experience, knew check-in from 3pm, but arrived early (about 12pm), just to leave the luggage and no one to be seen at the HH counter, and when someone came, she told me check in only open at 3pm, do they expect everyone to check in at 3pm ?? And only 2 breakfast voucher provided, even though we are a family of 6, do they expect the adults leave the kids in the room for breakfast ??

Property: Hilton Odaiba

Rate: AsiaPac 50% sales
Booked: Twin Hilton (basic room)
Received: Deluxe twin with breakfast for all rooms (need to request for the extra 2 rooms)
Amenity: Bottled mineral water
Review : Best property among the three, rooms are huge, average breakfast compared to Hilton Tokyo. On another note, only booked 2 rooms during the sales, and calculating the cost of an extra bed, its better deal to book another room, which i did on the day of arrival (via the Hilton app) and it's even cheaper than the sales !

No lounge access for all 3 property :-(.. it's not a big deal.. as we are out most of the days...

I really like that they give you the option to have afternoon tea and evening coughtails in East as well. We did that a couple of times to just mix it up a little. Offerings in terms of food and drink is identical, so not missing out by not being able to use the EL.

Booked: King Deluxe
Received: King Executive

Was able to check in at approximately 8am after getting of EY11 which was appreciated. Not so great when I asked if there were any suites available I was told there was a one bedroom suite I could have for an additional 95 GBP. I declined this and took the Exec room.

Amenity was rather odd, it was 4 small mandarins on a plate with a card saying with compliments from the chef. Not really sure why they bothered as I really doubt any chef was involved.

Hotel is sold out so no suites available for upgrade on check in however I was pre-upgraded to an Exec room 1 week ahead on the app an allocated a room on the top floor away from elevators as per my HHonors preferences.

Doubletree Kuala Lumpur
Award redemption basic room, upgraded to exec room on high floor.
Cookie was stale.
A note for light sleepers, ask for a room away from the light rail train, they are quite noisy, and only respite is 1am to 5am

Received: Suite

I got Diamond membership this year for the first time (status match with AccorPlatinum), and have stayed at two properties with the cheapest room at each (advance saver fare). I got upgraded to a suite on both, but prior to the stay I made sure to email the hotel and politely asked about the possibility of an upgrade to a suite. Both times they agreed, which is nice.

In both cases I got access to the club lounge.

Not looking forward to when the status match expires and I go down to Gold.

Once again proving it doesn't hurt to ask! And yes it would be nice if this was always done without question, but if you haven't got a suite then why not just ask for one? HSW is good at providing them.

I have bad news for you. There are no soft landings with HH. So unless you qualified for Gold, you'll be at whatever level you've qualified for :(

They didn't offer breakfast in the restaurant?

Beginners luck Jaian? Or perhaps the emails helped?

I generally find Hilton HORRIBLE with upgrades (beyond Club King type rooms), and I am a bum in bed Diamond. I guess it doesn't mean much to them.
