How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

For early checkin, I never ask, just show up. It's only ever been an issue once at the Conrad Tokyo, who needed an extra hour to ge tmy room ready (at 8am).

Ironically the one place I asked and was actually promised an early check-in was the Conrad Tokyo - turned up at 10 am to be told my room had maintenance issues; no alternative of same (or better) type available; please wait in (temporary) exec lounge shouldn't be long -- eventually given access at 14:50 (a whole 10 minutes ahead of regular check-in).

Agree, now I just show up and have generally been fine. Obviously helps if it's a larger property and in what I'd call a 24 hour location / one likely to have early flight departures.

Booked: King Deluxe Room
Received: King Deluxe Suite

Second stay at this property and got exactly the same upgrade as last time. Huge suite with views of The Venetian and City of Dreams. Inside there was living room, dining room, bedroom, bathroom with ridiculously enormous shower AND media room! Because who doesn’t need a dedicated room where they can watch TV, in case the other two TVs in the suite are not sufficient...

Executive lounge was probably the best of all Conrads and second best I’ve been to in the HH portfolio (after WA Rome). Extensive selection for afternoon tea and evening canapés with fantastic table service to match. Breakfast at the restaurant was as impressive with massive selection of Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Western food.

After traveling in Japan and Korea I didn’t think it’s possible to experience better service but boy was I wrong! The staff at this property (special mention to Bency from concierge) were absolutely phenomenal. It’s almost worth coming to Macau just for the Conrad, ranked #1 on TA for good reason.

Another flawless stay at this property. Last time was upgraded to Peak View suite, this time even better to high floor (selected via OLCI) with panoramic Harbour view.

Exec lounge and the breakfast restaurant were crowded as usual but we managed to get seats without waiting.

Booked Uber to airport (had luggage), the poor driver had to circle the hotel 3 times as he was not allowed to wait, said it’s common so better not to book in advance.

Booked: Queen Hilton Deluxe Plus
Rate: $259 per night
Received: Queen suite (1005)

Comments: OLCI T-23 hours showed me my upgrade to Queen Suite had come through and was able to choose 1005 (top floor and a room I've had before a number of times). Check-in at 8pm after a Sunday afternoon flying Coast-to-Coast, was met by the delightful Ines who I got to practice my school German over the next 3 days but certainly helped cement our relationship. Similarly, Emma (In Training) was equally as helpful. Jocelyn is still on maternity leave. Diamonds get the following letter outlining benefits and my Diamond plate of food was supplied. 2 free bottles of water in room and was offered refills at any time from Front Desk.

Shaun (Duty Bar Manager) and Paola @ Adelphi Bar assisted me both nights (can you believe I forgot to go down on my night of arrival and get my free tapas and beer  ). Breakfast @ Adelphi is the same, Jono is currently on extended leave but Emily (from Colorado) got to know me over the 3 breakfasts. Flawless stay at one of my favourite Hiltons in Australia (been staying since 2002).

Note to self, not all Relaxation rooms are created equal. The one on 35th floor should be avoided. I forgot all about the lounge above when I checked in and boy, can you hear all the guests walking in and out! Anyway, I called front desk and was promptly moved to the suite. Had breakfast at the renovated Glass, to be honest, not much have changed, same layout, furniture, new floor, ceiling and buffet bench, that’s about it really.

Any recommendations on where to stay in Vegas, 6 nights in May 2018 as a Diamond? I stayed at ARIA last time and loved it but hoping to stay somewhere similar (nice modern hotel, huge pool with pool bar) but also with Diamond perks (free breakfast, upgrade etc). Had a search of this thread and found a recommendation of Elara but would love to hear more opinions. Cheers!

Was very stoked to receive a suite as a Diamond upgrade.
Was not offered breakfast in the cafe downstairs, only in the Executive Lounge on Level 29. Still a brilliant property and good value for money. Should be my default hotel if I need to be in JB for an extended period.
Close to the JB Sentral (customs and immigration complex). We basically took the public bus over the causeway and walked to the hotel (15-20mins).

I have managed to avoid this room after reading comments on tripadvisor. I have found 37 should be avoided if possible as well although the noise seams to come from staff in the service lift section where I gather is a prep area.

I was hoping the renovation in Glass to be more outstanding after I heard the amount that was spent but then this is Sydney and if they have used quality fixtures it does not go far these days.

Is this one of those stingy Hiltons? Full breakfast has a $10 extra charge. No other Diamond amenities. Only two bottles of water. I mean, rules are rules, but the other Hiltons I've stayed at, especially in Asia Pacific, go beyond the stated benefits. Even Auckland gave me a bottle of red.

And what's with the windows at this hotel? They look like they've never been cleaned.

In a word, yes.

HSP is probably my least liked Hilton. "Out of their depth" is a statement that I think aptly sums up their efforts. "Ordinary" is a word that is possibly a bit generous.

The windows were filthy not long after they opened the place (search back and you'll find one of my posts about them, with photos). For a property where the view is the main attraction of the place, they seem oblivious to the fact that windows on beachside properties need to be regularly cleaned (which means yes, they do have to pay permanent window cleaners).

See if anything gets done about the windows after my post stay survey.
