How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

They seem to talk in riddles. I've stayed at both the Hilton and the Conrad in Singapore. I can see no reason to go back to the Conrad.

I’ve seen the “two lounges in one hotel” setup before. Both Hilton and Sheraton Tel Aviv have separate lounges for status members and for guests who booked suites.
Personally I don’t mind this setup as long as the inferior lounge is at an acceptable level, which was indeed the case at both properties I’ve mentioned.
It’s only fair that guests who paid significantly more to book a suite will have exclusive access to a better lounge, similar to first class only airline lounges.

That sounds like BS to me. I'll be there end of May and my folks were just there and told the same. Luckily I have "club" access as I threatened to walk. Won't be staying again myself, though, after that.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is "club" access?

I actually enjoy staying at the IC in SIN and given the reports about the Conrad, that may remain my preference.

Conrad Singapore
31st April 2018
Booked award night at 49,000 points.
Room on 27th floor.

On the app when checkin became available the cost became 49,000 points plus $151. At checkin this was reinforced and then confirmed by the duty manager and I was told I was mistaken. I then produced my copy of the booking and it suddenly became a computer glitch and the $151 was removed. I have only ever had something similar happen once and that was at the Hilton Garden Inn in Singapore. On that occasion I couldn't prove my version and had to go with theirs which I still maintain was wrong.

.

One possible cause of the added payment amount can be when an upgrade is applied by staff. Instead of clicking complimentary the upgrade is charged at whatever the room rate is. They do have a history that can be looked up to find the original booking amount, new staff may not know but a manager should be able to find this information easily.

It's the (apparent) new name of the old exec lounge, as posted by Straitman. As compared with the current exec lounge, which is on the 4th floow with no views.

Hi Bill, thank you for your feedback and we sincerely apologize for the inconveniences caused during your last stay with us. Perhaps you may have mistaken or been miscommunicated with, as it was never our intention to have a separate lounge for Diamond members.
No, not a separate Diamond lounge - we will have a combined Gold/Diamond lounge!

Glasgow Hilton.
Booked deluxe room, received Jnr suite with balcony on 20th floor.

Told breakfast can be either lounge or restaurant.

Some pics from the lounge. Couldn't take room pic as there was about a dozen people in there. Hot food was a bit blah, the leek and potato soup was being sold in the restaurant for 8GBP. Spirits were self serve.

From our balcony, I look around the corner and we're adjacent to signage

OK so just for this hotel. So how did you gain "club" access? Was it simply by booking a room that gave the appropriate access, or is there a secret wink, nod or handshake needed?

Glasgow Hilton.
If you are there for a bit, speak to Shin, the Director of Operations. The lounge should fall under his purvey. He previously had that role at both HotP and H-CNS and both saw improvements under his direction.

I must say though, if those photos are of the lounge offering, they look quite good to me.

Hubby out tonight from 5 so planning to check out the lounge again. Staff super nice and helpful on check in, worried I had to tip as they were so friendly.

The hot food was unlabelled but looked like those middle eastern stick things (can't think of the name) and something with veggies in a small jar I couldn't identify but everything else looked fresh and well presented. Cheese was good.

Hilton Glasgow restaurant have the Ballintines out for buffet breakfast.

Lounge is similar offering but I thought the scrambled eggs looked terrible but the lounge staff is super friendly. Sausage and bacon is good. If lounge or pay was your option, I would take the lounge and ask nicely and quietly if a poach or fried egg was possible.

Manager wanted me to take a photo (told you they're friendly), covered faces as the poor lass didn't have much of a choice.

I stayed at MEL DT last night. I was upgraded to a Flinders Rd room on the tenth floor. The construction noise is quite noticeable overnight, so I would suggest taking rooms at the back of the building for a while.

I told them to refund my nonrefundable booking ,when they offered me a paid upgrade to the club. My grounds for doing so were that I had emailed asking what impact the renovations were having and if I had been told I would never have booked.

That's interesting. So for this one Conrad, they've developed their own "pay to access" club. Someone suggested they had created a new room tier to avoid Exec room upgrades so am I correct in assuming the "club" is for exec room (and/or above) access and for paid access if offered. It's a bit odd. The name is not in keeping with Hilton and more aligned to IC.

I think I'll just stick to IC-SIN with Club access. At least I understand what I'll get.

Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh, part of the Hilton brand.

No status.

Booked two bed room and upgraded to 502 Billy something suites. Big room, separate living room ect. But I booked twin beds, suite has a double bed.

They put a full bed in the living room and hubby happily had a man cave, just what both of us needed after three weeks of 24/7 togetherness.

Service impeccable. Remembered by surname by staff, text and phone call to ask if we were happy with room price anything we needed.

Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok
April 2018
Status - Diamond
Booked - King Deluxe
Received - King Executive

Full breakfast, quite a nice lounge. Great service at that hotel, would recommend it.
