How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Is this a company wide protocol?
Robes were provided in Adelaide recently
Seems to be, not just across Hilton but all hotel chains. Each hotel is obviously able to choose what they do, as with all 'recommendations' they don't have to be followed..... unless the law has an impact on whether something should be offered or not.

What the?! Robes are not provided due to cost cutting. How is providing robes a Covid issue?
It's the same reason the mini fridges are not stocked, someone could touch it and not actually use it meaning it then leaves the room for cleaning etc. So rather than disinfect/replace between visits, they choose to provide only on demand.

Yet common-use utensils at the buffet are fine!?

2 x robes were provided at the (IHG) Crowne Plaza, Terrigal, a few days ago. Didn’t check whether Hilton Sydney had provided them when staying over Easter.

Edit: Stocked mini bar at Terrigal, nothing at Hilton Sydney

Another datapoint (albeit not Hilton): robes were provided and the minibar stocked at the Midnight in Canberra (a Marriott Autograph Collection property) this week.

Not in the UK (or countries heavily affected by COVID), nothing is self serve on the buffet and it's all done by staff. Utensils etc. are all brought to your table as required.

As you can see, in countries where COVID is less of a problem, they don't follow the guidance quite so much.

See point above :)

Our stay at a high-end Marriott property in Mayfair (a suite) during the pandemic had no robe, slippers, minibar empty, etc.

Except there was milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, sugar etc all available. Coat hangers in the cupboard. I bet those aren't cleaned or replaced?

I'm sorry, I don't buy it. It is cost cutting dressed up as Covid prevention. Provided the robes if they're advertised and launder them. Not hard.

Hilton Sydney does have bathrobes just now.

Oh, don't get me wrong, it's definitely cost cutting across many hotels and as you say, dressed up as COVID.

First time staying at the new Hilton in MEL.

Monday 26 Apr to 27 Apr
Property: Hilton Melbourne
Room booked: KING guest room
Rate: HH rate $262
Received: King Premier Room with city view.

At check in I was given a card to get canapés and x2 free drinks in the onsite restaurant ’Luci’ between 5pm-7pm. As I am starting to travel again this was not that useful as I had already arranged to catch up with work colleagues who I have not seen in 12 months. I arrived back at the Hilton at around 7:15 and asked if I could cash in the 2 free drinks card, initially told no but could use them tomorrow. I mentioned don’t worry I will just go back to my room and order room service. While waiting for the lift the chappy I had just spoken with came back and said we will honour the drinks and invited me back to to restaurant and they would find me some canapés. I declined however he then went on to say we will send up some wine with your room service order.

When back in the room there was something strangely familiar with the layout but it was not ‘Hilton’ it took a couple of minutes to recall then it struck me the new Hilton Melbourne is very similar to the West in Sydney and the DT in Melbourne. Out of curiosity I asked the reception staff a few questions and was informed that the owners of the West, DT Mel and the Hilton Mel are same. The same small pokey rooms and room service menus seems to confirm this. The Melbourne Hilton does have bathrobes and slippers, would I spend the extra coin to stay in the new Melbourne Hilton - the jury is still out.

Also with the new Hilton booking system I appreciated the text notification for the breakfast reservation ‘booking for one’, as if I didn’t know that.

So the stay just gets worse. Between the hours of 7:15pm and the time of posting this message the access keys allows me to get back to level 14 but not into the room. The reception staff are very apologetic as they have now re-cut the keys on three occasions, this new Hilton seems to be having a few technical issue, these things happen. The food order
