How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

How do we get the discount ??
Just say you are a Hilton Honours member. No proof requested (but the staff there know me well as they are also often the breakfast crew or room service team).

You do need to ask though. It won’t be automatically deducted from the bill.

I think the 25% off dining at Hilton Bars/Restaurants promo is still on for Gold/Diamond members but it is for a limited time only. Show the Hilton card to the servers and they will acknowledge it.
Not sure it’s time limited here. 20% off at Mondo for the last few years in my experience (when I remember to ask!).

Property: Parmelia Hilton Perth
Status: Diamond
Room Booked: Basic queen
Rate : $230 approx
Received: A room with a queen bed. If it was an upgrade, I couldn't tell. It was quite a big room, with separate bathtub and decent shower.
Amenity: Two waters in fridge, and a bag of yummy 'chocolate bark' on the table with a welcome card.

Arrived at 1am from the airport. Front door locked. Could see 2 reception staff having a chat. They didn't seem in any rush to open the door so I rang the bell. Eventually the door opened. Staff continued their chat as I was checked in. It seemed to be work-related, but it was still rude to give me only the minimum attention while they continued to talk. No mention of diamond status or even any real welcome to the hotel. Another guest who arrived not long after me got the same treatment re slowness to open the door.

Room on 9th floor with views of an alley with rubbish bins, and adjoining buildings. Once the sun was up I could see a sliver of the Swan River but even the most enthusiastic marketer couldn't call it a river view room.

At 7am construction noise began from a next door building. Tough if you wanted a Saturday lie in. Luckily I didn't.

Arrived at breakfast, the server was too busy making a fancy coffee to even acknowledge me. I was surprised that she turned out to be the supervisor. Anyway once I did get her attention she gave me a good table and was helpful.

The checkout receptionist was the star staff member of my eight hour stay. Friendly, welcoming and proactive in offering assistance.

I would give this hotel a miss until the construction next door is completed.

Only 1 night stay, work related and had to leave at the crack of dawn so didn’t require any of the services or bother with breakfast

Friday 13/5/22 to Sunday 15/5/22
Property: Hilton Adelaide
Status: Diamond
Room Booked: King Hilton Deluxe Plus
Rate : Honors Discount Advance Purchase
Received: Upgrade to King Hilton Junior Suite
Amenity: 2 bottles of water plus 4 drinks cards for 2 plus welcome card

Hen I checked out Wednesday morning I dropped the hint that I would be back on the weekend and if a upgrade was available. To my surprise I received notification Friday morning that I would be upgraded which came as a shock as I rarely get a suite upgrade at this property and even more surprised as it it was very busy.
Welcome drinks cards were not dated so added them to my stack of 20 odd others. Used them for a few drinks Saturday arvo and night as EL still not open and then used them for breakfast to avoid the “coffee tax”.
Comfortable room and breakfast spread was good but seems to be a huge staff shortage as service in restaurant was very slow and nowhere near enough staff for how busy it was. Took just under 25 minutes to get coffee this morning. Never had water replaced in room and requested a extra towel this morning which took 2hrs to arrive.
Commented to manager this morning and he did say they were understaffed currently and hence that is why the EL has not reopened also. Until they get staff and train them up the EL will remain closed but they are hoping it will be open by early June

Is the 20-25% off applicable at the Cairns Double Tree? I'm there in a few weeks and need to top up the bill to trigger the Amex promo.

Not sure but I have visited both Hilton hotels in Sydney for a quick drink and I have got the 25% off each time by showing my digital Hilton card. Should be stackable with the Amex offer as you pay with your Amex at the restaurant. Note that you have to commit $400 to one hotel, which I assume in your case is the Cairns Doubletree.

Stayed: Saturday night
Property: Parmelia Hilton Perth
Status: Diamond
Room Booked: Basic queen
Rate : $227 travel and save (early check in late checkout included and same price as the prepaid rate)
Received: King Executive (suites all booked as confirmed on the app as none available for cash)
Amenity: Chocolates and a welcome card
Early check in of 12pm offered via message prior to stay, late check in not needed but offered.

Lounge was booked for a private function so the evening canapes and drinks were relocated to the Karri room above the restaurant, which seemed a little strange but at least the Karri room has windows vs the lounge which looked to be all internal when I walked past. Selection was small but enough for a pre dinner snack. A few beers, wines, sparkling and limited spirits available.

Full buffet supplied but $3.50 coffee tax applied as expected. Coffee was pretty poor according to the wife so not worth the extra over the machine.

We also had dinner at Samuel's to hit the Amex cash back which was actually pretty good. The wife liked her Trout Ceviche so much she wants to go back when we are not staying.

Stayed: Sunday night 15/5
Property: Hilton Sydney
Status: Diamond
Room Booked: Corner King
Rate : $268.86 Member travel and save
Received: City Suite (I think this is 5 categories up on what I had booked)
Coffee Tax: $5

First time at this property in over 10 years. Last time I was Honors Blue.

Had made booking notes was planning to arrive at 1330 if an early check-in was possible.
Arrived at 1330 - Room not available but was given executive lounge keycard and would get txt when room was ready. Nothing received by the 3pm check-in time so went back to reception and my room was apparently ready.

Within 20 minutes of checking in at 3pm had two housekeeping staff go to enter room without knocking - and then as soon as they saw our bags inside the room said sorry and walked straight back out. I said to both we had just checked in to the room, was there anything they needed to do to it and both time response was "no, sorry" - the room did look perfectly ready to me but maybe it wasn't really quite "ready"

I gave the option to my partner drop bags at concierge and head out or chill in exec lounge till room ready. I think next time we will just bag drop and head out.

I'm back at Hilton Sydney again this weekend May 21-23 (with a base room booked) but not expecting on getting that same awesome upgrade two weeks in a row! Really enjoyed the City Suite as did my partner!

Sunday, 15 May to Wednesday, 18 May
Property: Parmelia Perth Hilton
Room booked: Queen Guestroom
Rate: Govt rate ($684.70 for 3 nights)
Received: Upgrade to King, card from GM and the bag full of choc bark, obligatory 2 free water bottles per day in fridge

Reasonable service at check-in, Diamond acknowledged and advised King upgrade.

Paola at breakfast hadn’t seen me in 12 months but still remembered what I drank and got a big hug from me. Looked after me both mornings.

Cassie in Exec Lounge was nice both nights I went, gave everyone a drink voucher on Monday night due to the noise of commercial air dryer going and having to close off the back section - because of the private function on Sat night as advised above by @SponsorSFC

Looks like a king deluxe which is a step up from the standard king guestroom.

For those staying in ADL just a heads up that immediately next door there will be major construction work ongoing for about 4 years starting Monday. The Central Market Arcade is being completely demolished for a new high rise complex. When completed it will stand 37 stories tall and will completely obscure views of those staying in the West rooms of the Hilton

Well that rules out the Adelaide hilton for stays for the next few years
