Hi Guys

thanks for all the tips. I had a look at Bangkok airlines website bit it appears you have to front up at their office within 2 days of booking. how do you get around that

I caught a bunch of Bangkok Air flights earlier this year, all booked through their website, without any trouble or ever having to front up to their offices. It's Thailand though so your mileage may vary greatly.

I have made 50+ bookings with PG over the past 12 years via their website. As long as you present the same credit card at check in you will have no problems.

Everyone's hilarious as clearly you would go by road then ferry. Sorry to not be pedantic enough for AFF.

Another for Bangkok Airways. Did BKK-USM-SIN on them and they were great. Airbuses all the way, on time, no problems, ok food and the "lounges" are a nice touch.

Did this last year and never even realised you were meant to front up with the credit card! Just ensure you have the card on check-in (as, like me, you may book most of your trips on one card but travel with 3 others...).

They weren't very expensive at all from memory. Maybe I got a sale fare.

You definitely do not need to front up to their office after booking and I did not have to show credit card at check in either. And as someone else said, sign up to their Flyerbonus program and get the extra luggage allowance. I have been to Samui a number of times, most recently just over a month ago in April. Recommend the Library, where we stayed if you go.

This current trip I flew into Samui from coughet and have flown in from Bangkok and out to Singapore, all with Bangkok airways. Thai services the route and I think Firefly also service from Malaysia. You can also use the new Bangkok Airways route KUL-USM, I had already booked might flight before this route started on March 31 this year, so went KUL-coughet-USM so hopefully will not have to do that next time.
