How do you pronounce Lego

It was leg-oh in NSW in the 70’s (and still is).
Must admit, haven’t heard “lay-go” before, not even from the over-pluralising Americans who keep wanting to incorrectly shove an ‘s’ on the end to describe multiple pieces.
Except weirdly they talk about wearing ‘a Speedo’ to swim instead of speedos or budgie smugglers

Lay go.
But then I am also a good Strath/Maccy boy. (those who know will know)

After twenty odd years I still struggle to understand some of the stuff the easterners say. 😅.

And don’t get me started on the American isms so many people are using now.

Math, overhead bins, takeout, trash. I could go on….

Oh dear. I sound grumpy now. 😀.

Nope. Ask Julius Caesar (lego=I build)...but then again he would have pronounced "veni vidi vici" as "Wayney weedy weaky"

No where is button to close the thread ... ;)

Lay go.

Actually in Latin, Lego means I read, I believe.
Oops.My poor memory of schoolboy Latin.
Turns out lego can also mean collect or put together in Latin but that's a coincidence.
Sure someone has mentioned upthead that Lego really comes from Danish for Play well
