How do you unpack once you get back home?

I normally only travel with a carry on no matter length of trip or weather at destination. We decided some time ago we were prepared to pay for hotel laundry costs rather than lug extra bags or be surrounded by a chinese laundry within our room. Places where we are repeat visitors I have sussed out Fluff and Fold locations where I can drop my dirty bits off and get back clean and smelling lovely as I don't like to travel home with a bag of rancid clothing.

When I get home I unpack immediately before I fall into being a lump of jelly sitting on the couch. I do keep a travel bag of toiletries which are immediately replaced in the bathroom ready for next trip. All my favorite skin care items, I always have on hand a travel size. Same with toothpaste.

So I kept noting yesterday our unpacking skills.
Pulled up at the back door yesterday at 4:30pm, unloaded 1 bag of groceries and the 3 holiday bags.
By 6:30pm onto the 3rd load of washing, all items in their respective rooms (i.e some items are on the bed in that room)
Only have all the "paperwork" (receipts/booklets/brochures) left on the dining table to work out what can get burnt, or saved to go into the holiday box.
Everything should be done by this afternoon.

Been home a month and there is still two bags in the fireplace room with odd bits in them. Redoing our junk room into a organised storage room so hopefully this weekend they'll be put away.

I think we’re all pretty similar. Putting off the chore of returning items to their regular place. Once everything is put away, our holiday becomes a distant memory

I need to take a rest first and then organize my stuff after a day or two. I will only do the unpacking when there foods inside my luggage.
