General comments: I was, until now, a regular here. After being messed around, I had lounge refused by the RDM. Having previously spoken to the GM about this, I emailed her, at which point she made her final decision to not allow me access (despite being on an exec floor and being platinum). I continued to argue this with the RDM, and requested the GM call me to explain her reasoning. Her call to me (approx 9pm) began along the lines of "Mr M. I am trying to sleep! How very dare you try to contact me!" in the most condescending tone I have ever heard. It took a call to the ED of loyalty for Accor aus&pacific to lift the GM's "this guest is to have no access or privilege during his stay" ruling lifted. I cancelled all my future reservations on the spot, while on the phone to the Sheraton on the Park, who were kind enough to listed while booking me in there for the same dates.
That night I ordered wedges, but just after decided that in fact I should sleep instead - I called from the room phone, and held for what felt like half an hour (could have been less or more) on hold. called twice from my mobile, gave up after what felt like an age, and then dragged myself downstairs again to cancel the order. Following this, a staff member came up to my room. He was initially invited in, as I left the phone in the room calling to prove that it was still on hold (it was) - he then refused to leave my room. I had to demand quite a few times for him to leave before he did.
I have never been yelled at and spoken down to by a member of staff before in my life - especially not a GM. I've never had to demand a staff member leave my room. They honestly treat me better at the Ibis world square.
