General comments:

Novotel Brisbane recognise LeClub. LeClub is my 3rd ranked hotel program so I am only Gold... not sure about Plat treatment. I've stayed there on the journey from Classic, Silver and now Gold. Once I went Gold, the treatment definitely changed - rooms are generally upgraded and there is water in the room.

Property: Sofitel Brisbane.

Room booked: Two nights booked. First night Club Room (Upgraded an Accor Advantage Plus comp night). Second night Amex Platinum Reserve comp night. Standard room
Requested room with two double beds as travelling with two small kids.

Room upgraded/type: No.

Rate: See above

Free internet: Yes

Welcome drink: Voucher for 2 drinks at the bar.

Early check in/late out: Yes, paperwork suggested 5pm would be available but we could only get 3pm due to be busy

VIP treatment: Just the above

Access to executive lounge (if existing): Only my booked Club Room Night.

General comments:

I was kind of hoping as a platinum member that we might be able to get club access the second night but was denied access. We were able to remain in our room on the club floor though. Club access would have cost an additional $140 so we decided to use the restaurant and our Accor Advantage Plus card instead.

My first stay at a Sofitel and whilst we were comfortable I was a little underwhelmed by the hotel itself. Rooms are on the small side and decor is not completely to my taste. Maybe a little dated. Did enjoy the lounge though. Spacios with nice views of the city and excellent offerings at both evening and morning.

Property: The Playford M Gallery Adelaide (previously the Sebel)

Access to executive lounge (if existing): N/A

General comments:

I am so happy this hotel has started participating in Le Club! Nicer toiletries than when it was a Sebel. The general level of service from staff I find to be excellent, without them actually providing any additional treats or services.

Free internet: Yes

Welcome drink: Voucher for 2 drinks at the bar

VIP treatment: AMAZING!!! I have felt like their most valued guest. Given that I spend about 21 nights a year here but the majority of staff know my name (always a hello Mr Pablo) and I feel very welcome and a core part of the hotel. So one staff go way beyond how I'm treated in any other Accor property

Access to executive lounge (if existing): N/A - although they are talking about starting one in the next few years. I hope so.

Additional care: beyond expectation. The staff go above and beyond. Although staff turnover is very high and I'm about to lose the most amazing Guest Experience director in Sari. She's been phenomenally good to me.

General comments:

The service from so many of the staff here is just amazing. I feel like part of the family at this hotel, although given that I've spent a lot of nights here. But the staff go above and beyond. There are some ongoing issues in the hotel with bad plumbing and I wish they had the Pullman Bed but their service is just amazing. There is a fairly big amount of staff turnover so I feel like I've lost people who have now become friends - management need to look at their retention rates on staff.

General comments:

Overall, I found Mercure's acknowledgement of Platinum status to be poor. Before each stay I emailed the property directly and let them know that we were coming and made any requests (such as early check-in) and subtley mentioned having Platinum status. It seems like back-end staff will only admit to program privelages when prompted (Mercure Munich wanted me to pay $100 for a late check-out), and front-end staff are oblivious. This despite Accor LeClub signage being prominently displayed on banners and posters all over the place.
Having said that, it was European summer and I'm sure in some cases we were staying in a full house with no availability to upgrade or get in early or out late.

The MGallery in Interlaken was a breath of fresh air and I'm glad that of all the Accor properties we stayed at this was the one that did the best for Platinum members.

General comments: The venue is dated however the staff offer attentive service. There were an extraordinary amount of mosquitos in the lobby/bar area. I noted a staff member was quick to locate a patron suffering a seizure in a lift and first aid was promptly provided. The ambulance service arrived soon after. I booked this property during a 40% off sale for 3 days 24/12 - 29/12 which included breakfast. I would do the same under those conditions but keep an eye out for the Rockford Darling Harbour which is a better property. I missed out on that booking by a matter of clicks so to say.

Room upgraded/type: No

Rate: Fully flexible

Free internet: Yes

VIP treatment: I can only compare it to our time in Vietnam and I will say none noted.

Access to executive lounge (if existing): No, however I have dropped to gold this year.

Additional care: Staff member Rick at reception is enquiring, genuinely friendly and helpful with local options.

General comments: The hotel website espouses that a staff member, Michael Wood recently topped all comers and was awarded AKL’s best coughtail maker. I like my bloody mary with heat and he delivered!

Overall the hotel staff seem to handle high volume patrons with minimal fuss. Our check in coincided with the arrival of a full compliment of cabin crew from large aircraft x2. Despite 3/4 operational lifts we were in our room in no time and our luggage arrived to our room soon after.

General comments: This facility is ideal for families. There are plenty of free activities available for adults and children including sailing, paddle boarding and many more. Plenty of paid activities such as archery and segway tours, If you have ever seen a wildlife documentary on millions of seals lazing about in a confined space it was actually filmed here in the Novotel pool. The buffet breakfast is satisfactory. The restaurant and cafe food are ridiculously expensive but adequate. You are far better off BYO food or heading to Coles up the road as there are plenty of BBQ facilities to use around the resort (not noted on the website ask reception for BBQ kit). Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be adequate lighting around the BBQ areas for evening meals. A quick google will give you some other local dining options but Noosa is always a consideration e.g. Peter Kuravita. Drinks are reasonably priced at $7.00 for a schooner of TED's and the house white. Happy hour is 3-4pm $4.50 for for the previously mentioned. The suite itself is ideal. We managed to score a suite far away from the activities centre which gets loud during the afternoon. There are plenty of kids high on soft drink on scooters.

Bed really is heavenly... possibly one of the best beds in the industry. Staff are welcoming and friendly. I think they have the most expensive breakfast buffet that I have seen... $48 for breakfast is ridiculously expensive in my opinion.. unless there is champagne.. and there is no champagne :( I like this hotel for its great location (on top of Central station so easy to catch the airport train) and its ambiance.. So I'll stay here again. Also like the amenities and the nespresso machine.
