But the Sofitel is sooo pretty :)

Yes it's a shared lounge between hotels

That's surprising that they give Mercure access to the lounge too. I stay at the Pullman 5-8 times a year, so I find this a little annoying. Has anyone stayed in both Mercure and Pullman, and can comment on the differences between the quality of the rooms?

Ive stayed in both and the rooms at the Pullman are definitely nicer and bigger. The Mecure isn't bad but it's just like a normal Mercure.

lol but still inferior to the Gold Coast one imho and as most Australian Sofitels are a law unto themselves regarding granting Platinum members access to their lounges Pullman / Mercure represents much more value to the Platinum member unless of course the company is paying (not in my case) then the member probably couldn't give a toss anyway !

Thanks for the input, I've been in the Mercure tower and gotten the feeling there is a reasonable difference, not been in any of the rooms though. After having used the Pullman exclusively for the past 2 years, my next stays in Brisbane are at Sofitel and Novotel. There have been a few issues the last couple of stays, so may as well see what the other options are like, though the value proposition for Pullman is hard to argue against.

I'd second that but other than the actual rooms and lifts, the reception, main restaurant ( Allure), main bar (Kg Bar)and the club lounge are shared by both hotels. They even share the same pool and gym !Believe it or not sometimes i have booked the Pullman and it has been cheaper than both the Mercure and Ibis !! Go figure !

Why would you find it a little annoying ? It's available to all LCAH members !

Ah thanks for that. Do they both have club lounges ?

No. Like many other properties the Mercure and Pullman Albert Park are in the same building and share lobby, bar and exec lounge. Again as is common, the different brands are in separate wings of the building.

Thanks but i was wanting to know if both the Pullman Melbourne on the Park and Hotel Pullman Albert Park ( 2 separate hotels from what i can gather) both have club lounges ?

Gotcha. No idea about the "on the Park" Pullman, Yohy!?! might know.

Last time I stayed there it was a Hilton (I think) and I had no status so no access to a lounge.... but you'd have to assume the Hilton would have had a lounge.

They do, the pullman on the park lounge I haven't seen personally but it is still sold with the exec rooms and given the closeness of the transition will be as it was operated by hilton a few months ago
