How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

I stayed there a little over a week ago and received a bump up from a Superior room to a Club room. I had lounge access granted for the two nights ( although I only used it for one) which was a bit of a surprise going on past experience with Sofitel Brisbane.

So it does seem highly likely that there has been change in policy.
I'm a platinum Le Club member.
Platinum doesn't get you lounge access at Sofitel, but a club room does, even as an upgrade.

Not sure about the accuracy of this, I had a club room for the 3 days but access was only for about a day and half, and required me getting my key recut to provide access. This key then expired and I had to get it recut again to regain access to my room and lift.

then I think you were stooged. Website shows that club rooms come with club access. Just like a HH exec room gives you exec lounge access.

Except that as stated in my original post on this matter, I was given a club room as an upgrade from the basic superior room. I didn't pay for access to the lounge or the upgraded club room.

Should it matter? Id have thought if you have the room you have access regardless of how you got the room.

Im going to have to jump on this thread I just hit accor plat and have Mercure AKL and Potts Point in the next two weeks.

I recently had three stays in BKK Hotel G Pullman, Sofitel So & Hotel VIE was upgraded in all three and well as a welcome drink voucher which I always forget to use, Sofitel So is the best of the three.

My first time Plat so it will be interesting to see what the difference is

What were your thoughts on Sofitel So? I've read mixed reviews but mostly negative.

Keen to hear on Sofitel SO too. I have a stay there in July as well as one at Novotel Clarke Quay, so I can see which I like best for future trips.

I liked it, it's super modern the hotel is only two years old, everything works and you get a great view of the city. The location isn't super great though. I can see why people don't like it though the hotel thinks it is "supercool" expect staff with Mohawks and in crazy suits, they were all still super professional so I didn't mind......basically it's accors version of starwoods "W hotels" aiming for a young rich demographic. If you are ok with that then great if not then it's BKK and there are a heap of other great hotels to stay at.

Mercure Auckland

Status: Le Club Platinum

Room Booked: Cheapest Room I think it was called a Deluxe or something

Room upgrade: Was upgraded to a suite

Rate: prepaid, non-refundable

Free internet: Yes, with no download limit, but a slowish speed 500kb, the internet was pretty coughpy

Welcome drinks: 1 voucher

Early check in / late out: Yep, I asked at check in it was granted, however they called my room, right on 11am (super annoying) and asked me to check out, I asked again for the late check out, which they said ok too, then when I came back from lunch my card had been blocked (super annoying), and when I went to reception to get it fixed they said it was because I had not checked out (super annoying).....so I guess you call it bad service.

VIP treatment: besides the upgrade nothing else, although when I checked in they said I was the VIP for the day, whatever that mean't

Club lounge: N/A...well that I know off, I didnt ask and nothing was offered

This hotel is really poor, the rooms have not been updated since the 80's and are really tired, don't stay here unless you have to.
