How strange from a personal point never had a problem with Pullman or Mercure when staying at either. Just stayed at Mercure last weekend and was in fact upgraded to room in Pullman Some times in Pullman the water and bottle of wine don't appear but other times in Mercure i've had 2 bottles of wine in one weekend :D Cheap is sometimes best :o
Must say i've never been told that breakfast is available at Bistro Allure instead of club lounge mind you either

It is starting to get run down, but not too ad overall. Wifi is a dog and the service can be a bit hit and miss. But staff are friendly and they remember you even if only staying 5-6 times a year.

Was told early on that you can do brekky in the restaurant. Much better option, though they will get you whatever you want from the restaurant if eating in the lounge.

Have switched to the Sofitel for my next few stays, will re-evaluate after this

I'll also switch and give the Sofitel a go next time.

Had some recent bad experiences at Sofitel Brisbane and an awful experience at Sofitel Broadbeach. Definitely give them a miss and no Platinum benefits whatsoever.

Try ‘The New Inchcolm’ Brisbane had a great stay there – they look after Plats.:D
