This one was a good experience. Hotel quality could be improved overall but my room on the premium floors was good.

Had some recent bad experiences at Sofitel Brisbane and an awful experience at Sofitel Broadbeach. Definitely give them a miss and no Platinum benefits whatsoever.

Try ‘The New Inchcolm’ Brisbane had a great stay there – they look after Plats.:D

Sounds interesting not heard of anyone staying there before what benefits do plats get exactly ?;)

I am no longer Platinum (now Gold) but received the fruit and sparkling mineral water + personal note. (oh.. and the chocolates and still water :) )

Booked Club room at Sofitel Brisbane... absolutely love it! It is total 5 star service.. Me (at about 6pm): "Is it possible to have my shirt pressed before work tomorrow?" Lounge Angel: "No problem" (it was pressed and back in the room by the time I'd finished pre-dinner drinks!!). Moet in the mini bar. Comfy bed. Sofitel Brisbane has always been really good to me and the reason I joined Accor Plus.
All good so far :)

Were you platinum at the time of booking? At AKL Pullman we were about to get full platinum benefits until I declared I had dropped to gold since making the booking. Made it back soon afterward.

Thanks for the tip puppysparkes but unfortunately at the time of booking I was Gold and they knew it at reception (gave me the Gold welcome pack with drink voucher etc)... Better than when I was Platinum and the poor check-in person at Sofitel Auckland had to give me a silver pack :-| Obviously someone was a little colour blind in the subdued lighting ;)
But like you I think I will be back to Platinum soon :)

Overall very nice property, suite upgrade was welcomed. Only complaint is the hotel is on top of a hill...

I agree with the earlier poster (Anna) the soundproofing is terrible - construction in the adjacent block was disruptive.

In my 6 night stay I had 4 different rooms due to various sound problems!! Ended up in room 830 which was blissfully quiet.

Worst Accor property yet, made even worse by the management and staff attitude that they are exclusive or special. Get real. It's old, tired and only has location going for it, not a single thing more.

Good size room, save for the bathroom which was like a broom cupboard (why?!?) Nice newish fittings. Lots of road noise (Vulture and Stanley Streets) even on high floors. Property is adjacent to the Mater Hospital so lots of sirens and even a few helicopters through the night.

Good tip.. Thanks Anna.. The Sofitel Auckland is also risky... I had a room next to the bus depot and rubbish bins.. terrible sound proofing... Harbour side is good.
There is nothing worse than not being able to sleep :(
