How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

Property: The Johnson Art Series, Spring Hill brisbane
Status: Accor Plus - gold
Room booked: Base, $192
Room upgraded/type: Yes - 2 bedroom apartment!
Early check in/late out: Not asked or offered
Welcome drink: Yes x 2. Plus another full size bottle.
Welcome gift: Another bottle of wine and 2 small chocolates. 2x 1L spring waters in glass bottles.

WOW. What a difference 2 blocks makes. I've been staying at the underwhelming Mercure Spring Hill for $100 on the hot room rate; it's gone up to $115 and 160 for nights I needed so I looked further afield.

No mention of the upgrade but walked into a HUGE sprawling fully kitted up 2 bedroom apartment. Full kitchen (including 2 burner stove, full size fridge), laundry inc washer and dryer. The usual 2 drinks available - they are bottles behind reception, choice of beers, wine, juices. I got 187ml windy Peak sav blanc from de Bortoli as my drink. And in the apartment was a 750ml bottle of white wine (legacy by de bortoli) with chocolates.

Spotlessly clean, very very quiet (compared to the horns blaring, pedestrian lights blipping and meth heads shouting you can hear through the windows at the Mercure), great gym and pool. I think I'm in love.

Property: Movenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali

Did you eat at any of the onsite restaurants, or know of any decent options nearby?

I'm considering a couple of nights with my wife and 9 month old daughter after we check out from Conrad. We're after a change of scenery (anywhere but Nusa Dua) and Seminyak/Canggu might not be the right place for a 9 month old.

If anyone else has experiences with this property (or other Accor recs for Bali) please do share.

We’ve just completed 8 nights at the Novotel but it’s also Nusa Dua.

Our day trip took us past Grand Mercure at Seminyak. It’s a block back from the beach, but is seems much more of a party area than ND. Not sure it’d be my pick of location with the little one.

When you’re at Conrad and looking for meals, skip Cucina restaurant at Sofitel. Shocker. Rather than repeat the story in this thread, see here.

If you need a recommendation for a driver, let me know.

Can only comment on the Sofitel....but wrong area for you.

I agree. Cucina is nothing special. I can't recall the name, but the beach restaurant at the Sofitel was good from memory. I don't think it participated in Acoor+ though.

Toya Beach Club.
They were happy to apply the Accor Plus discount on its buffet there earlier this year. I don't think there was any sign at the restaurant that they are Accor Plus restaurant and the restaurant is not listed on the Accor Plus website, but I asked on booking and then asked again when we were led to our table and both said we could use our Accor Plus cards there.

Brother stayed at the Homm last month for 4 nights and loved it. Scenery and the resort were superb and he loved the food served there.

There was no buffet at Toya when I was there last year. Are you thinking of the main restaurant where breakfast is served perhaps?

No I didn't mix up @Daver6 . There was a BBQ buffet for weekdays and Sundays and a Bali style seafood BBQ on Saturday nights.

Spend your time at the breezy seaside lounge with leisurely atmosphere. Enjoy your afternoon at our luxury beach resort with light snacks, favourite coughtails and witness the sundown with the barbecue buffet.

Kwee-zeen is the restaurant you are thinking of @Daver6 for buffets and breakfast.

Sofitel confirmed via email prior to our recent Nusa Dua stay (at Grand Hyatt) that they will honour the Accor+ discount even if you are not an in house guest.

Toya now has a bbq seafood platter @jokes128 , they did not indicate this as an exclusion, but did so with 15% drink discount at their pool bar - for in house guests only.

Clearly I wasn't paying attention when there :)

MrsDaveR6 and I did the bbq seafood platter for dinner one night and thought it was quite good. It's a lovely walk along the beach path from where you're staying.

Oh I vaguely recalled that there was a seafood platter. We dined on a Saturday night(for the BBQ seafood buffet) and a few table from us someone ordered that BBQ seafood platter. Looking at that it seemed not much different from what we had at the buffet(I even thought whether the staff just filled the platter with the items at the buffet) for a little bit cheaper than the buffet price(maybe IDR 100-150k cheaper than the buffet). So for us it is better value to pay a little more and get the actual buffet rather than platter.

Photos of the BBQ seafood buffet on Saturday nights for those interested.

Price is before tax(+21% on top of IDR 550k per person). Live entertainment included. But the food went fast and the chefs couldn't keep up with the demand.

We are looking at booking 3 nights on the sunshine coast. Not Noosa.
It will be over a weekend. Looking for recommendations.
The Novotel does not seem to have very good reviews lately.
Two Sebels? or the Mantra?
It will be in the school holidays unfortunately

Any suggestions?

The Mantra Mooloolaba is our go to on the SC.
Have always had good stays there but no idea what prices would be like at school holidays as we try to avoid them
