How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

I can’t help you with this property but despite the poor earn rate with Accor I do find that in Australia, Peppers is one of the best for acknowledging Accor status
Hopefully not a silly question but thought I'd ask: what type of hotel is a Peppers? Is it an apartment hotel like the Sebel or Breakfree or is it a traditional hotel? I would also be curious to get your opinion on where Peppers lands in terms of hotel quality (I know Accor has their own chart where they put different brands into different categories but that's all marketing BS).

Property: Pullman Sydney Airport
Status: Accor Plus Platinum
Room booked: Superior Double
Room upgraded/type: Yes Executive Double on 11th floor (1109)
Rate: $232pn
Free internet: Didn't use
Free Breakfast: Yes the buffet
Early check in/late out: Neither requested
Welcome drink: two drink vouchers
Welcome gift: Two small sparkling waters and the normal biscuit thing in the box with Platinum on it.

Reception staff very friendly. Acknowledged 'status' and mentioned the upgrade. Arrived from Brisbane about an hour before the 'lounge' near the restaurant closed but most of the canapes were dried out or finished - plenty of carrot cake which no-one seemed to want. We were going to have dinner so that did not matter. Was full though and no where to sit. Dinner very average, long wait, overcooked but got the 50% Accor Plus discount. Breakfast was average again with empty buffet dishes, tables not cleaned, no water, very little staff. Restaurant seemed to be short staffed both at dinner and breakfast with long waits at restaurant to be seated and not filling up the buffet. Eggs to order and speciality coffee was appreciated. Having said all of that it is very convenient hotel to stay at.
Thanks for providing the review maia200. I'll be staying there next weekend as an Accor+Platinum so will be really curious to see how the hotel treats me in that regard (I've got a Deluxe room booked I booked back in December as part of their red hot rooms for $155/night). I have stayed at this property once before and found the room to be quite nice (and back then I was just a lowly Accor+Gold).

Unsure on whether I'll do the buffet breakfast in the morning as I've got a Virgin Australia business flight down to Melbourne at 10 AM and so might grab a brekkie from either the Rex lounge or Virgin lounge if I'm particularly hungry (unless of course the buffet is something to write home about). In any event, I'll need to pace myself since I've got 3 flights coming up on that day: Virgin down to Melbourne then Etihad to Abu Dhabi and another Etihad to Zurich. All in business (thanks of course to Aeroplan).

In any event, hopefully the maître d'salon cracks open a bottle of Dom for yours truly when they arrive!😂

They are a hotel but I love them because they are not like a generic hotel and most have some charm about them. I’ve stayed in 8 of their properties and I rate them around the Pullman quality if not a bit higher. I find their acknowledgment of status is superb and we always get looked after. Our favourite 3 are Cradle Mountain, Launceston Silo and Palm Cove

Not sure about the Dom :) . The rooms are nice, hard to say that the lounge breakfast will be better than the hotel but it could be unless you order an omelette or poached eggs. There were no baked beans or sausages available but they were coming out in about 5 min I believe. Maybe order a takeaway coffee for the road and wait until you get into the Lounge. Enjoy those flights, its a long day and heaps of food ✈️🥚🥓🍾

Free internet: Yes
Free Breakfast: A la carte menu
Early check in/late out: N/A
Welcome drink: two drink vouchers
Welcome gift: Two bottles of water and a small jar or Lindt chocolate eggs

Booked this past Thursday morning for a stay that evening. Was surprised to see this rate floating around. When I arrived at reception the agent simply gave me an Ibis card for my room. When I asked if there was anything else, they checked and said, "Oh sorry KangarooFlyer88 I see management has put this together for you as a valued Accor+Platinum":
IMG_9150.jpeg

Room itself was Ibis in quality basic but functional. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a desk area where one could get some work done.

My welcome gifts:
IMG_9149.jpeg

In the morning breakfast consisted of an A la carte breakfast (you simply presented the breakfast card provided above at the restaurant). In particular it was one of those three item breakfasts with a main (toastie, croissant, banana bread, etc.) a side item (e.g., fruit platter) and a drink (i.e. tea, coffee, orange juice, etc.). I was pleasantly surprised to see this last point since Accor doesn't list this hotel as offering complimentary breakfast for Platinums.

And for those that are wondering yes the restaurant is functional. One could use their drink vouchers for booze (I ended up redeeming it for a coffee and a orange juice).

Overall, would recommend staying at the hotel particularly at this rate.

Booked this hotel two days out for the Easter long weekend, as I've stayed here before and liked the location. The hotel itself is somewhat dated with one (of two) lifts being out of service due to the 80 year lift requiring service and it being not so easy to find parts (apparently). The rooms were recently renovated as when I stayed here in January 2022, the rooms were very dated:

I was pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of a Nespresso machine and milk brother, along with slippers and bath robe:

Welcome "gifts":

Breakfast itself was laughable. The hotel does have a restaurant but it was closed. In lieu of that there was a grab n' go breakfast which consisted of cereal, bread and other sources of essential fibre:

Would I stay here again? Absolutely, if the price is right (i.e. <$100/night)

Mercure in Warragul! Platinum status recognized at check-in. Perfectly fine (extremely clean) room (booked so not an Upgrade) with a comfy king bed and good spa bath, free bottle of pretty decent Shiraz, Easter eggs (!!) and a couple of bar tokens as well as the free bottle of wine!

Property: Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort and Spa

Room booked: junior suite

Room upgraded/type: no

Rate: Flexible with breakfast (cheaper than flexible without breakfast, go figure?)

Free internet: Yes

Welcome drink: 2 drink vouchers, good for $25 coughtails amongst other choices. Large bottle of San Pellegrino in room + platter of 6 macarons and a fruit bowl.

Late check out: yes to 4pm but it was a bit of a palaver due to the resort being busy for Easter weekend. But all good in the end.

Additional care: managed to get a table booking in the allegedly fully booked restaurant for Saturday night.

General comments: nice resort with peacocks as alarm clocks. The spa is not on site, you have to take a 3 minute ride on the hotel shuttle which runs every 30 minutes. Sentosa is very very crowded on weekends as is the nearby Vivocity mall. I would stay again if looking for a 'drink coughtails by the pool' style trip. Explanation of photos below.

'Art' in the bathroom included the poor prisoner trapped on a swing looking starved and miserable.

Iridescent pink tiles in the shower.

Mosaic flooring in the public areas.

The rest of the photos are self explanatory!

Can any of the Accor experts on AFF please tell me why a 4 night stay paid with cash would only credit in my ALL account as "3 status nights"?

TBH I found Peppers in Port Douglas to be pretty average (and chock full of small children). Im staying at the one in Kingscliff in June so will report back about that one.

Ive only stayed in peppers where there hasnt been a better option in the location.

Whilst they are a hotel, some room types have kitchens so are apartment like.

Property: Sebel Manukau Auckland

Rate: Accor Plus free night
Free internet: Yes decent
Free Breakfast: No
Early check in/late out: Neither requested
Welcome drink: Free drink
Welcome gift: Not entitled
Parking: On site. I wasn't charged but overheard someone else beinh
Hotel Restaurant: Ora bistro. Small place but decent food and bar. Accor Plus discount applied at checkout (The surrounding area has all the fast food options-the other local restaurants look a lower standard than that)
The hotel itself is smart, clean with friendly capable staff but its location just off the highway means its kind of a posh motel

Status: Accor Plus Platinum
Room booked: Deluxe Room 1 King Bed
Room upgraded/type: possibly maybe, high floor but otherwise identical to the pics for the room booked.
Rate: Stay longer and save
Free internet: Yes
Free Breakfast: In the lounge. Free lunch also.
Early check in/late out: didn't need
Welcome drink: no, but fridge full of water and sparkling in lounge
Welcome gift: Zip

Despite the odd omissions of welcome gift, emailed invoice and email feedback request, this was an excellent stay. Staff were very warm and attentive and took a real interest in you, particularly Bob and co in the lounge.
Very nice lounge with plenty of benefits was the highlight. Breakfast there in the mornings with a signature crab omelette and other a la carte options like crepes as well as a reasonable buffet; Notable omission of fried tomato but nice cheese selection and other usual hot suspects. Perfect if you like continental breakfast. Drinks and canapes 5 to 7 every night, reasonable hot and cold canape selection which varied each night. Drink selection a bit meh, mostly De Bortoli Legacy range with a few euro wines thrown in, but drinkable. If you're keen in the morning, you can get Taittinger with breakfast. Lounge bonuses were lunch every day 12-2 in the lounge, which was another buffet (last photo) with breads and a sandwich crusher; and a chocolate hour from 8 to 9 every night. Basically you got full board here. After the canapes you could also order from the restaurant menu and have it sent up. There is a "rooftop" bar on the floor below and they were open to 10.30 as advertised, no nicking off early.
We were a bit wary of the hotel as there had been a run of dodgy reviews on Tripadvisor, including one from a total nutter, but we can now highly recommend if you get lounge access. They have their "best hotel lounge" award proudly displayed.
cheers skip

Rate: see above

General thoughts. Location wise is good for the southern end of the CBD. Right above a MRT station. Hotel views are ok, but you're not getting anything that impressive like you would say at the Swissotel.

This is a smaller, more intimate hotel. Not crowded or bustling. The pool area isn't massive but also never packed. Club lounge is on the smaller side but never crowded.

Suite is a good size and very functional. Mini bar is free with soft drinks and some snacks. Breakfast was ok. Good enough selection, but not the largest I've seen. Staff have been excellent.

There is no breakfast in the lounge. It's only available in the restaurant. No afternoon tea, but from midday you can grab softd rinks, coffee and some light snacks. Evening drinks from 5:30pm to 7:30pm with some coughtails available.

Room upgraded/type: Executive King Room (no bath tub) top floor

Arrived at the Pullman around 7 PM yesterday and promptly checked in. Gentleman checked me in promptly and offered an upgrade to top floor executive king room (with the only caveat being no tub). As I didn't really plan on taking a bath I decided to give it a go:
IMG_9230.jpegIMG_9232.jpeg
IMG_9231.jpeg

Having previously stayed at the Pullman Sydney airport in a Deluxe room (upgraded from a Superior) I must say that it isn't earth shattering the upgrade to the executive room. It's a slightly better room with the main advantage being the top floor. Pro tip: when checking in, ask for a room which faces the airport to get some get plane cough on your stay. The main advantage I can see from this room is the inclusion of the Nespresso machine which IIRC wasn't in the Deluxe room I stayed at last time. Then again, some would argue that the lack of a bath is a downgrade.

One nice thing that finally seems to be coming back is the mini-bar:

IMG_9229.jpeg

One area I was somewhat disappointed with was the lack of a welcome gift for Platinum elites (aside from the two 330 ml bottles of water sitting in the room). Frankly this is one of the worst welcome gifts I have received staying at any Accor property in Australia (aside from perhaps an ibis budget which doesn't provide ALL benefits). I appreciate the upgrade to a "nicer" room, but I mean c'mon! This is Pullman, heck even the Comfort Inn I stayed at in Las Vegas gave me a bag of chips and cookies as a welcome gift for being a valued Choice elite in 2019!

The hotel has an executive lounge as others have pointed out which I think is located near the mobius grill. Since I got to the hotel relatively late and had a couple of items to work on before getting to bed I didn't really have a chance to experience the lounge although the welcome letter did say they serve canapes till 6:30 PM.

Breakfast is served at the mobius restaurant on the ground floor. It's a buffet affair which quite frankly wasn't too impressive. A couple of hot menu items (see plate) some asian noodle stuff, fresh fruit and bread. I'd put that around an Ibis in terms of selection and food quality although there are a couple of things that set it apart from your run of the mill ibis. First, the server collects your hot drink order and delivers it (and a glass of water) to where you are sitting. Second, there are some extra yogurt and drink options you wouldn't ordinarily find (i.e. coconut yogurt). That being said for a hotel that claims to be high end, one would expect something more substantial for breakfast:
IMG_9234.jpeg

Would I stay here again? Absolutely, but... the price better be right. I'm certainly not gonna spend more than $150/night staying at a property like this when I could find better properties in the CBD or stay at cheaper properties that offer more amenities (i.e. HI Express).

Accidentally booked a room including a dinner for 2, turned out to be fabulous and would certainly recommend the Grain of the Silos restaurant within the hotel. Really cool hotel and staying within a concrete silo is a unique experience. View was great and hotel location is wonderful with a short stroll over the bridge across the Tamar connecting the 2 Peppers hotels into town.

Love the Peppers Silo, the breakfast is superb.
We had dinner at the other Peppers one night and didn’t rate it. The Grain of Dilos restaurant however is excellent
