Just wondering on average how long AAdvantage award ticketing takes?

From the few bookings I've made in the past, it seems to vary a lot.

Is this the general experience?

A booking I made was sent off for ticketing this afternoon (Aus time) and I realise it's the middle of the night/weekend in the US, but I'm keen to get it ticketed so I can start making other arrangements.

Not more than 24 hrs IME. Might take a fair bit longer if your routing is knocked back by whoever does the review.

My personal record was 1hr 36 mins for my last booking when I called AA BNE (itin set up and put on hold by AA in the US).
1220 - called to pay and request for ticketing, booking queued for review
1328 - itinerary reviewed and approved
1346 - AAdvantage award certificate pulled
1356 - Ticketed.

I've never tracked it in the past as I'd usually call the US number at night and gone to sleep - will then get an etkt receipt via email some time the next day. But this time I wanted to save on the currency conversion fee and so rang up BNE. I suspect it's faster in BNE as the work load might be a fair bit lighter than the US reservation centres.

You should've promptly gotten an email asking you to call them back if your routing has been rejected.
Really? When I've had routes knocked back before (I think 2 out of 2) I only found out because days later the status didn't change from "Ticketed" to "Ticketed - <DATE>" so I phoned them.

I hope you're right and no email = good sign.

I've always gotten an email as soon as the powers to be are not happy with my routing.
