How long for points to post from SYD Airport Tax and Duty Free

Made a purchase 21/10, points posted 1:1 on 31/10. I was pretty impressed - to be honest I wasn't expecting them to post at all!

Compare that with an on-board purchase made with Qantas on 18/8. Points posted 23/11! :D

Cheers,
- Febs.

I only realised that my purchases were eligible for QF FF points AFTER I had paid:evil:...but I was given a card to make a retrospective claim; I emailed a scanned receipt to [email protected] and got the points deposited about 9 days later..ahem, I got 157 points for a $57 purchase;):confused::mrgreen:

I purchased on Thu 08 Nov 07 and points posted on Tue 13 Nov 07 and then purchased again on Mon 12 Nov 07 and points posted on Mon 19 Nov 07.

Sure you didn't "accidentally" make a slight mark on the receipt that "could have" been confused as a 1? ;)

Similar experience here:

Onboard - 23 NOV 07 DUTY FREE PURCHASE ON QANTAS 02OCT07
Onground - 10 OCT 07 SYD TAX AND DUTY FREE 03OCT07

Well, as tends to be the way, my points posted this morning!

I hadn't really missed them, but was curious how long it would take. Suprisingly fast actually!

11 days (17 Nov purchase, 28 Nov crediting).

Thanks for all of the replies :)

This morning my points posted from Saturday's purchase so looks like they are moving in the right direction.

This reminds me that I must remember to claim for points in the future

Looks like they've moved even further.

Purchased DF at SYD DFS (inbound) at about 8:45am...points had already posted when I checked at 10:45am! Even gave me 6 more QFF points than I should have earned, :D.

Merry Christmas all. :)

Hmm, maybe a batch transfer today Febs. Mine purchased on 8th December, posted 24 December. Must have been double points for December too..... :?: :D Still, a much better turnaround that SPG.

Must have purchased just before they were about to transfer to QF.

I purchased duty free early morning of 24/12/07 and points have not posted to QFF account yet. I think they are batched and sent to QFF weekly. I expect the points to appear in the QFF account around the 31/12/07.

I have found this to be the case in the past.

6 days for my latest purchase.

2 Jan (Purchase) 8 Jan (Credited)

Purchased on 24 December, posted on 3 January. Yes I know New Years is in there somewhere but still 10 days to post....

Christmas may have been in there somewhere as well...

They now have a "Missing Points" claim form on the website if your points don't post.

F1RST Tax & Duty Free

Altho, there is a very strange condition:
"All claims must be made within 4 weeks of the applicable purchases. Allow up to eight weeks for points earned through Partner Services to appear on your account."

I have a purchase from 16 days ago that still hasn't been credited. If not credited by early next week, I'll put the claim in.

How did you go with the claim Mal?

I purchased duty free in SYD on 31 March and the FF points have not posted yet.

Posted a bit more than a week later after claiming. You can track your claim on the website

Slightly off topic but worth an FYI

Advertised in the latest Amex Ascent Brochure (the thin flyer that comes with your statement), if you purchase from DUTYFREE.COM AU - Duty free for Australia between now and 31/12/2008 you will receive additional 4 points / $1 spent.

This is in addition to your standard CC earn rate and in addition to points earned directly with QFF from entering your QFF Membership number.
