Posted a bit more than a week later after claiming. You can track your claim on the website
I have put in a claim through the website link you provided but I got an interesting response.

Your claim for Qantas Frequent Flyer points has already been registered with a different surname. It will be updated with the surname provided.

Please check status at a later date.

How could it be registered with a different surname when they swipe the card at checkout?

A different surname (however it got there), would certainly explain why you haven't got the points!

Mine first went to that status, then changed to something like "claim already registered", then to "under processing" and then to "granted".

I had been waiting for the points to appear on my QFF account and did not notice that they were already there 6 days after making the online claim.

I have just put a claim in as well, and isat the status of 'Claim was previously registered'. Reading this thread and looking at their website, it strikes me that whatever system they are using to post points to QF is quite unreliable.

Mmmm speed is not in evidence for me:

Points posted 26 AUG 08 from F1RST TAX AND DUTY FREE purchase 04AUG08
Points posted 22 AUG 08 from SYD TAX AND DUTY FREE purchase 27JUL08

Very very slow for me:

22 AUG 08 SYD TAX AND DUTY FREE 11JUL08 - - - 99
Still quicker than QF duty free postings:
28 JUL 08 DUTY FREE PURCHASE ON QANTAS 13APR08 - - - 120
This one was quicker, but I've just realised, completely inaccurate, as the points were actually from F1RST at MEL:
21 APR 08 SYD TAX AND DUTY FREE 10APR08 - - - 109 :?:

Anyone have any experience with points being posted from Qantas Frequent Flower purchases? They are meant to be 5 points per $1 spent, but so far I have seen nothing in my account (made 8 days ago).

I did an online claim about 2 weeks ago for points missed at the airport - no sign yet...

I think if QF are going to pursue having earning partners all over the place, they might want to make sure that the partners post points in a timely manner. Failing to properly post points in a timely manner could alienate people.

Mine posted reasonably quick, and I did not have to chase up:
22 OCT 07 SYD TAX AND DUTY FREE 19OCT07 - - - 2,100

I didnt have my QF card when I landed on 4 Aug so about 10 days later I submitted online and teh points posted on 26 Aug. What was nice was that I got the double points for buying three items deal :)

4SEP08 F1RST TAX AND DUTY FREE 24AUG08 - - - 240

An $80 purchase on 24th August (Buy 3 items get, triple points promotion)

What was really good was I had a MEL SkyBus 20% off voucher. (Valid for inward D/F purchases only).

Speaking of vouchers, Travelex in SYD had an offer on the 15/08 where if you changed $1000 AUD of currency you received a $30 Discount Voucher for your next purchase at Duty Free.

I had to change $2000 AUD and did it in 2 blocks to receive 2 vouchers. Wife used them straight away for her purchases.

Not sure when this offer expires.

Note that they've now added the following T&C with points earning:

"Points cannot be earned on tobacco products. "

So if your sums don't add up - it could be that carton of cigs you bought!

So one does not earn points on ciggies - what's that gunna cost? 50 QFF points - big deal!

I in fact, with the contemporary Oz duty free restrictions, it's not the points that lure me - the 20% off Skybus vouchers are more enticing.

Ahh! So that is why my last 2 points claims were each ~36 QFF points short. Anyway I complained that the points received did not equal the 2 separate different duty free purchase dockets and I received a generous adjustment to my QFF balance.

Another purchase has failed to credit. Hardly worth chasing up the ~60 points, but still it's the concept of they promise points and should come through with what they've promised.

Now to track down that receipt before their 28 day claim window closes...
