How long for Velocity Points to be credited?

<sigh> Over 3 months since I lodged the formal claim with them, and now 1 week shy of 6 months since my flights and no reply or points credited. Time to contact them yet again.

I note RickyRiccardo mentioned above has also not been on since back then, so no point trying there. V Australia are still only listed as a "partner" on the Velocity web site so they still say to allow 12 weeks for the process to complete, which is now well past due its far from ambitious service target.

I would also like to throw my hat in the ring here. I have waited over 18 weeks for crediting of points for a stay at a Mantra Hotel, and have just gone past 14 weeks for a stay at the Vibe Savoy. On both occassions, I put in my Velocity number as requested, and showed my card upon check-in. Have contacted the VMC on 3 separate occassions, with no real luck. They advise me that the matter has been 'escalated' and they will call back. I am yet to receive one of these calls back.

So, am now at the point of giving up, and have decided to place all future crediting of points to QFF. It is a shame for DJ though, as they are trying hard to become a more rounded airline appealing to more than just leisure and small business travellers. I find it hard to imagine though an airline appealing to many corporates without a well functioning FF program. With the FF business already very profitable for QF, and will likely (if not already) be for DJ, it is a shame DJ are spending very little effort on this Velocity issue. From this thread, it is clearly a frequent problem.

Anyway, thought I'd share my experiences. Crazy Dave, is this problem being looked into at all?

I've had a few glitches with Velocity rewards. THe points do seem to take way longer than they should. Certainly QFF seems to get things right or sorted out much better than Velocity.

Having said that I must say I've had quite a bit of help from them with issues regarding points not being credited for Shop & Earn purchases. They even went so far as to have someone from the company that helps support S&E call me and walk me thru some a purchase and offered some tips that has since helped me to get 2 transactions through without any problems.

I really do hope Velocity can get it's act together as in some situations it offers a better earn rate than QFF, esp if you're flying in PE on VAust, or redeeming for a short domestic trip and can take advantage of their cheap fares - it's quite often easy to get a o/w flight for < 8000 points.

I believe that odysseus' issues have now been resolved satisfactorily (other than being way too late for which we apologise).

scibo10 please feel free to PM me with details so we can trace the process and see what is not working. I am sorry that it has taken so long and that staff have not gotten back to you. But please, calling it a frequent problem on the basis of a handful of posts here out of tens of thousands of transactions is a bit OTT

cheers

Fair call crazydave98. It does appear though that it is a more frequent issue with partner transactions than with DJ direct, on a proportionate basis. But in the scheme of things, the number is probably small.

Also, thank you for offering assistance to me on this matter. I will PM you with the details.

Yes, indeed. Thank you for your assistance in this matter, and I hope things go more smoothly in future.
