How long to wait before churning again?

I lodged a complaint on Monday, so we shall see. I went through the process of proving that I only had one card and not the three they insisted I have, but it didn't get me anywhere. I thought being a long time customer was in my favour but clearly not.
Worth checking different credit reports, some are slower to show card closures than others and you dont know which one WBC is using. If you find credit report is incorrect you can also lodge request there to have closed accounts updated.

I checked all of them, including the report they told me showed it as open, and it is definitely listed as closed.

Had an interesting experience with Citi recently. They rejected my application, as my latest payslip showed a lower payment due to me taking some time off over Easter. I assume this because a phone representitive I talked to about the document submission mentioned concern over that. I said that you can either discard the latest one, or wait a week and I'll get you a new one showing earning well into the 6 figure range. Instead they rejected it without a reason, as the opaque banks do. Grrr. How long do I need to wait to reapply?

I can't answer your question however hopefully post-buyout, things improve!

This may be too much to ask though!

Well, actually, my thought was to apply for a Citi card before the merge occurs. The thinking is that right now you can churn a Citi card and a NAB card with separate timelines. Once they merge, doesn't that mean you'll only be able to churn one of them per year?

It will depend how NAB does things I guess. For example, there are 2 x ANZ cards that can be churned separately.

But you may be right. I've given up on Citibank. Always too hard despite an excellant situation..

Good news - I got updated payslips, had it reassessed, and it passed. Took about 2 weeks for it to be reassessed though, and communication is non-existent in that time.
