Yes. They have several of them, although only a couple are done up as VIP aircraft.
 
I don't think she'll be accruing SCs on this trip. Suspect she'll be onboard a RAAF aircraft. Do they even have lie flat seats on the 737 the PM uses?
And now penny Wong touring the Pacific islands, but on the RAAF again so no SC's.

She may need to revert to domestic tours to..... Well isn't her only advantage as LTP at domestic level just J lounge??
She'd be in the chairman's lounge each flight on domestic anyway or F lounge on international anyway.

So makes no difference flying QF more for SC's right?
 
As per title, has anyone hit LTP yet? Is it evident on anything such as boarding passes or membership card?

Has it received any recognition from QF Crew on the ground or in the air?
 
Nice. Though someone who has LTP probably has travelled more than they would like.

I'm unlikely to ever get to LTP unless I land a job that requires a ridiculous amount of travel for many, many years.

I couldn't agree more.......even though I am over halfway, I cant see myself getting there somehow............
 
Maybe we should change the abbreviation for this to LTH - LifeTime access to Hobart call centre. Now that might encourage some members to make a special effort to attain the status.

I totally understand; being practical usually makes for easier decisions. I am no expert planner, but I have always appreciated the journey.

Unplanned, I was an Ansett Diamond in my 20's.....amongst numerous other FF Schemes that I slaved away at, Qantas was the last I used to fly, and I resorted to them only after it made sense post some work relocations and, of course, that tragic loss of AN, (thanks ANZ).

I frankly don't see the point in chasing Lifetime Platinum. Why go the extra mile (literally and figuratively) if all you're getting is what a slightly nicer lounge? At the end of the day, you'll have access to things like extra checked bags with QF and partners, priority everything as a QF lifetime Gold. Instead of wasting all those flights chasing this mythical status that offers marginal benefits at best, wouldn't it be more prudent to focus your energy on SkyTeam or Star Alliance airlines that offer lifetime status? For instance, Air France Flying Blue provides lifetime top tier status for anyone who earns top tier status with them for 10 consecutive years.

I reckon it cost me $70K to get to LTG, got there last week, took about 7 years.
That's a lot of flying! Theoretically, if you were a Platinum One member for 4 consecutive years that would get you LTG since you would need to earn 3,600 status credits each year which in 4 years would net you 14,400 status credits.
Even while they’re not in the air, Platinum One members enjoy benefits including free membership to the exclusive Qantas Golf Club, and can have all their travel queries catered to by the dedicated Platinum one team — that means no waiting on hold with the regular Qantas call centre.
Having tried both offerings QF had of Qantas Golf Clubs I must say it was an utter failure. The first iteration of the Qantas Golf Club was a set of irons which had a manufacturing defect where all the drivers were bent. Hard to hit a bird if you got a crooked club! The second and most recent iteration of the Qantas Golf Club wasn't that much better either! What golf club changes the location of the cup after you tee off? And after complaining to Qantas about that, all I got was a Qantas pencil sharpener for my golf pencil. Real classy! 🙄

Hey @Mattg - thanks for the shout out. Yep - we picked up LTP with the initial launch. Last I heard there was something like 100+ in existence. Should finish up 2022 with a little more than 108K LT Status Credits.... The QF VIP team get the LTP piece and continue to go above and beyond. Wait times on calls have improved dramatically.

Is LTG treated any differently to regular SG?

I suspect LTP is treated like WP which in my experience is bugger all recognition at most touchpoints

Nothing out of the ordinary when you're getting into the lounge or boarding a flight. QF boarding passes show QF P1 / Emerald, EK show QF Platinum, JQ show HVC and other OW partner airlines show Emerald. I haven't viewed a copy of a passenger manifest to see if anything is called out.... According to myflightradar24 history I've done nearly 5,000,000 miles across 3,000+ flights (excluding Ansett / Star Alliance). While I've met a few QF Chief Pilots I still have a way to go for my Ryan Bingham (Up in the Air - 2009) 10 million mile moment with AA Chief Pilot Maynard Finch. Nor is my name on the side of a plane.

Prior to March 2002 I did all my domestic travel on Ansett and international travel on QF. Unfortunately I don't have my Ansett / Golden Wing flight records but across the years I've done just over 3000 flights, 2300 on QF metal with a 60% / 40% domestic / international mix since 1995 when I commenced business travel. The number of flights per year between 2002 - 2022 have varied from 14 (2021) to 178 (2002) with most years averaging around 150....Apart from a couple of years (2011 - 2014) in international J most of these flights have been in Y or Y+. The few years of international travel in QF J and US Domestic First delivered a huge amount of Status Credits per year - between 12K-16K. The devaluing of the OW Partner Airline (AA, AS, etc) SC earn and the discounted SC earn you get on QF/JQ for top $'s on domestic, trans- tasman and international bookings makes the push to LTP harder than when I cracked the 75,000 SC's back in 2014/2015.

Anyone who knows where to dig up historical Ansett / Golden Wing flight records can you please point me in the right direction.... Thanks in advance

I already have lifetime status on star alliance and sky team as well as qf ltg.
