On my last 3 trips to USA I had flown a mixture of Delta and Virgin America
The DL flights were in my account within 72hrs flying and accurately credited.
VX however have always taken at least 2 months or so and have never been accurate.
Another hitch with VX flights is if you upgrade to Main Cabin Select (aka premium economy) or First, the system changes the fare status similar to that of a promotional fare and so transactions are shown on the Velocity account however the points show ZERO.
EXPERIENCE SO FAR
DELTA - 15 flights, 100% credited within a week, 100% accuracy.....BALANCE: all points credited
VIRGIN AMERICA - 4 flights, 25% credited within 2 months, 25% accuracy. BALANCE: 75% still not credited almost 12mths later (despite a barrage of communication)
I still don't get how partners like Delta, Etihad and Europcar can credit my account within a week consistently, yet others like Hotelclub and airlines like Virgin America are a nightmare.
