How long will WP status last

Say I am a NB and my anniversary date is 30/6.

How long will my WP status last if I qualify before 30/6 as opposed to immediately after 30/6

Until your anniversary date + 1 year, during that year you need to requalify or drop to SG.

b. qualify after 30/6/10 = WP status till 30/6/12

a) yes
b) kind of, once you tick over on 30/06, the status credits you earnt in the previous 12 months will be reset to zero. You'll then have to earn 1400 SCs if you aren't already Platinum or 1200 SCs if you are already one.

Yep, you anniversary date does not change, for the balance of the year after you qualify WP your are a WP, then you get a full year.

Don't forget though that you stat at 0 status credits on 1 July so unless you are planning a DONE4/KUPP type exercise that can earn 1400 SCs in a short space of time that can be moved around from late June to early July then I would be interested to see what your thought process is around this.

I only have about 250 SCs atm. was planning on going to asia for a vacation in may/june and doing some status runs while I was there. Might as well move it to july and get an extra year of WP

You do realise if you wait until July you start from 0 ? Those 250 will have expired. You will need some serious status runs in at J or F to get to WP from scratch if only travelling in asia.

yes i know that... but 250 sc compared to an extra year WP.

as far as status runs go couple of cx runs should be a good starting point.

If you have the cash to burn, why not. Most of the cheap CX runs are for sale/travel only until June 30 however... I just did the SIN-BKK-SIN run in J for AUD$500 or so, from July, they're about $2k+...
