How low can Etihad go ?

I have been critical of the recent cutbacks across the board of Etihad in Business a class but this latest one takes the biscuit , no more luggage tags for silver guests ! Ok not a biggie but I did like them and I did use them .

The populist view may be that with these Middle Eastern carriers, they are at their best when oil prices are really really high, their competitors are strapped for cash buying oil and their owners are flush with cash.

So we will start seeing Etihad making lots of money and opening up new routes! Future is bright then! Certainly better than what is happening now to a once decent (though second tier) airline.

I just use the old ones. My frequent flyer number hasn't changed, and I still have Silver Status, so they still apply...

Cutting the daily Perth route too as of Oct 1.

For those of us on the East Coast, this may be a good thing, as it means less likelihood of being routed through Perth and that horrible bus ride between terminals... (Has happened to me a couple of times on the way back from Dublin, never on the way there. But only when I've origined in Sydney rather than Canberra.)

Assuming the domestic connection is VA, what bus ride? The connection would be T1i to T1d?

I can't remember the details. I was jetlagged. I do remember the extremely unpleasant and very rushed bus ride.

I'd just arrived First Class (operational upgrade) so the contrast was very noticeable with the sheep truck of a bus ride, suitcases in tow, seemingly not air-conditioned, and unsure if it would make the connection because of heavy traffic/roadworks and the quite short connection time. Maybe they've changed terminals since then.

Still absurd that there's a bus connecting the two main terminals, when they are physically so close together. Same with Sydney, although there the train is an option. I make a conscious effort to avoid Sydney Airport in favour of Melbourne for this reason.

Yes, VA domestic made the move to T1 in November 2015.

The 5 773's barely cover the 3 routes that they run. They did think about using A332's but changed their mind.

God its a bus ride on a perfectly fine bus, stop being so precious... What do you want a chauffeured limo just for you???

Once Qantas get their act together and make their plans to move over to the international terminal then they will all be located in the one area eventually...

This was meant to be happening but Joyce inexplicably managed to bully the local/fed pollies to let QF stay in their current digs and even set up a separate customs and biosecurity checkpoint in QF's current terminal to service their flights direct to London...

and for those of us who live on the east coast and have family on the west coast this is definitely a bad thing.
