I just want the mixer, am not bothered by pasta or ice cream functions, Cove. :)

Now at 108k points, and I've just noticed the Kitxhenaid Artisan KSM160 is available for 143k points or 73k points +$350 in points + pay ...

My old mixer need a LOT of encouraging for anything stiffer than eggs, so this is tempting ....

Check out the retail price for these items and the price they go on for sale at major outlets.

143000 points equals $715 in flybuys dollars
By the time you get to this figure flybuys may have increased the points needed for the item or taken off the available list. It's best not to get caught with this many points.
73000 points is $365 plus the pay figure of $350 takes the value paid to $715.
Is the item available in the shops cheaper than this?

It's RRP $799 at Myer and DJs, rainbowgirl, and Kitchenaid products are normally excluded from any 5 or 10% off appliances promotions. As they're so rarely on sale, that's why I've contemplated buying in the US and converting voltage in Aus. The same models are around $US400 or less, before county tax.

I've only been saving points for this item, which was not previously available at points and pay, only full points. And only Fly Buys offered a selection of colour; my other points, including QFF only offer fire engine red with points. Which does not suit my olive green kitchen. I don"t go out of my way to collect Fly Buys points, bit have been trying to collect more to "earn" a Kitchenaid rather than just buy one at Myer or DJs.

Okay, it sounds like this item works out to be good value for points. I'd be tempted to use the points plus pay in this situation because I'd be afraid of stock issues or redemption value going up. Good luck. I hope you get what you want. Well done for doing the research.

Is it still cheap at 220 electronics .com?

They are US but sell cheap, legit 220v models. Not checked it in a while but was around $400 Aud

Over a number of years we have bought some 60hertz 110volt items from America and then acquired the step down transformer to run it. Times change and we now don't do this because an insurance company might mulch on a claim if they found the cause of a house fire was an electrical item that had no C tick electrical approval for Australian use.
I still see electrical items for $39 US selling in Australia for between $159 and $199 and wonder why. Hopefully Costco in Australia will fix this for us as they get a wriggle on in their Australian expansion plans.
Getting some value out of these points is a challenge.

I'm no sparkie, but if you watch the mixer the whole time when using and then unplug and remove, would you be pretty safe? But, agree I probably wouldn't do it on a set and forget electric device.
