I have been earning some serious points lately, which prompts the question....

Whats the most number of QFF points you have earnt in a 12 month period...?

Just wrapping up my first year in QFF and earnt about 75k points so far... having said that I only was fully engaged for about 6-7 months of the membership year. Next year should be 100k+ points easy.

Is there an option missing on the poll?

No one cares about the majority of 100K - 250K... those with few points can yet be converted to loyal customers & 250K+ are already much-loved VIPs ;)

Well spotted JohnK... Was left out on purpose... :p

Generally if you hit the 100k point mark within 12 months, you have worked out the wonders of FF programs and should be able to cough yourself up to the 250k mark :D

Edit: If you fall within the 100k to 250k then just put yourself down as 100k... Can use the rest of thread to brag how close you are to the next voting option I guess...

Next year will be different. As a gold FF who flies Jetstar when he has to (due to living in NTL) I think my points earn will be a lot higher (with the new status bonus increase and jetstar points earn changes).

Having said that, I'm a points hoarder. I have over 300,000 points but don't want to use them.

I know I've spent about 400k points in the year ending April but according to the (now missing) QFF icons I earnt 270k odd points last year. Then there is DJ and Amex MR on top of that......

& 250K+ are already much-loved VIPs ;)

Do I need to mention that I don't feel much loved by QFF at all.

Never really checked.

Does that include CC spend/Everyday rewards etc.?

Two DFW trips I'm doing this year will earn this WP black duck 34K points each.

Many years ago I had over a million Qantas Telstra ANZ visa points which converted to > 250K QFF points.

Year to date I've earned 900K points - 147K from flights (including the 5000 point bonuses) and 753K from credit card & partner points (including bonus points for Qantas spend).

I really wish QFF was for flights only.

Can I ask why?

I earn 90% of my points through flights. When the explosion of credit cards and other partners (woolies etc) came online, there was a dramatic reduction in available seats.

You used to be able to get a J seat from SYD to LAX with as little as 3 months notice. Pretty hard now.

Not much good having a million points if you can't use them.

My flying is purely domestic, but according to QF thats not the problem, apparently I am not eating:

Very true, but thankfully I've had good luck with points redemptions so the credit card earn is a valuable part of the QFF program to me. Certainly availability (as measured by what's on the QFF website) isn't all that great but as a WP I've always had success making points redemption requests over the phone, predominately for premium cabin flights to the US and LHR.

I'm sure Qantas have a different point of view actually...

Me thinks QFF is an absolute cash cow for Qantas, the harder they make it to redeem, the higher the profit. Quite simple its all about them and nothing about us anymore unfortunately...

Actually I think they put a dollar value on the points and they treat them as a liability.

They're pretty keen for you to use your points on flights - as in a way, that's still a sale.

Actually it has been pretty easy to do JASAs from PER to MEL and SYD in the last 12 months except when there was a two week glitch in the booking engine. We even went to CBR to see if there was anything to show for our tax payments.
