Actually it has been pretty easy to do JASAs from PER to MEL and SYD in the last 12 months except when there was a two week glitch in the booking engine. We even went to CBR to see if there was anything to show for our tax payments.

Domestic flights are and always having easy to redeem.

Issue is with international flights.

Yes we are going out in First on QF and back with SQ in J from LAX on points this week and the same in September using the QF747.

I doubt any WP (who has flown the required 1200/1400 SC) earns less than 100K points in that year. Without trying too hard, I've earned well over 100K in the last 12 months from flying alone. I think I'll pick up another 50K or so shortly from planned travel.

So, yes. Points are easy to earn when you do serious flying, and earning multi-hundred Ks of points/year from flying alone shouldn't be a hassle for heavy flyers.

I'd agree with that. 400,000+ in the last twelve months for me.

What's happened to the points category icons? Mine have vanished.

Can't be bothered going back through pages of activity statement to figure out my annnual tally (but well over 100K although not sure if >250K). Sitting on 1.05M at the moment even with pretty hard spend every year over the last few years.

mine have disappeared as well. Not much of a loss as they were rarely correct. I track my points with a spreadsheet, much easier.

From flying (since the start of my QFF year, Aug 1); 279,863 points (including flights planned for July).

Another 45k miles flown on top of that which have allocated to *A, etc.

From purchases, etc around 50k points.

(I'm another spreadsheet fan for my flights, points, etc)

I appreciate that it can be hard to find good redemption fares available - and for those of you with 1m+ points it must be quite frustrating. :(

I propose a solution: I will PM you a list of my desired destinations and preferred dates of travel, with all my particulars too and you can feel free to book award flights for me. This way you can have the satisfaction of knowing you have done a good deed and not let your points go to waste, and even better: I am happy too.

Everyone wins!

Good try. But, on second thoughts...no :p.

The icons have disappeared but they still show them on your monthly statement (email).

almost 300k for me this year with about 270k flying. I really need to start using my credit card more often...

Since August 2010,

With 35 domestic all Discount Economy and 2 Syd-LAX in Premium Economy, i have accumlated 91,240 Points and just reached Gold today, Bronze to Gold in my First year, im happy with that

Most of my points are earned by flying and car hire.... use to use Hertz now i use Budget so i get points.

I use Qantas to book accomodation when possible but as i stay at the same places they offer me really good rates/ corporate rate with an upgrade every week.

I should use my CC more but i pay cash for everything or Direct Deposit for all my bills flights are paid for with my Company Credit Card.

I don't have many points as i use them for family holidays and i just pay for myself.

It is a bugger that some CC's cap the amount of points you can earn in a year.

Or should change my CC to one without a cap on points being earnt.

Does anyone know of a CC with no points cap.

Love your style Misha.....

I feel certain that there would be hundreds who can earn 10 million points a year and Misha only wants a million!I was inspired by an American tv clip where the guy had 32 million left so frankly the sky does not have a glass ceiling as far as I know.Start with flying then wear out some of the best credit cards that are uncapped.

This year was a bit of a slow year... only 533,747 in the last 12 months. ;)

I think I burned them all on JASA/FASA also... hehe

Generally if you hit the 100k point mark within 12 months, you have worked out the wonders of FF programs and should be able to cough yourself up to the 250k mark
Assuming you're doing it by choice :)

My standard year is around 100 x 1000pt minimum guarantee, 20SC flights (shorthaul flexible Y) for a total of 100,000 pts and 2,000 SCs from flying.
If I backed off a bit, I could quite easily retain WP with 60 flights and 60,000pts. Some more from a c/card, but I wouldn't crack 100k.

Anyone earning their SCs mainly in the golden triangle on flexible Y tickets would be the same.
