How many top tier programs (Hotels, Airlines, CC's) are you in??

Hilton Honours Diamond
Lufthansa HON Circle
Qantas Platinum
Marriott Platinum
Starwood Platinum
CSA Czech Airlines Gold

Should we be counting Platinum credit cards? Aren't they just offered rather than achieved? I have refused all offers from Amex for their platinum cards. :)

Anyway as for FF programs, I have not achieved top tier status anywhere. I am currently QF Gold and Velocity Silver, although I am a bee's donger from achieving Velocity Gold. My annual review date is November 30th and I need to take about 4 more flights (all at flexible fare level) to get there. I hope to be able to do it just in time.

Now that Velocity has status tiers, I'm not planning to split my travel between airlines any more and therefore won't take any domestic QF flights.

QFF Platinum
PC Gold (1,753 short of Platinum which should happen on 9 December in SIN)

I don't believe in Platinum credit cards or the exhorbitant annual fees required to have one....

John - what's "PC" mean?

I don't believe in Plat cards either, although I just received my QF Ultimate card (first year's annual fee $395 waived) to collect the 22,500 QFF points and plan to cancel it forthwith, probably even without bothering about the free QF flight.

It seems that PC is probably the better Hotel loyalty Scheme going around for Oz based residency/travel at the moment.

I intend to use my Honors Gold to get comped a similar status in PC into the new year.

In terms of point collection it is better (which is fine by me :) ). If you are looking at recognition and extra things thrown in, other programs seem to be more generous.

Cheers, this is that sort of thread I guess ... :p

AFF is about optimizing ones benefits from travel as well as travelling with benefits. Certainly no rant here ...

Is this forum a little like 'how big is yours?'
The forum is all about helping one another. If that means getting top tier status, or even mid tier status, in frequent flyer programs, hotel guest programs etc then this can't be a bad thing can it?

I singed up to Intercontinentals Priority Club in February of this year. I had not even heard of it before finding this forum. Now after just 9 stays (10 nights), and purchasing a few extra points, I will have Platinum status and have enough points to redeem for 12 point break nights @ 5000 points/night. By the way I have not paid more than A$140/night to stay at any of these Holiday Inns, Crowne Plazas.

I have also managed to get Hilton Honours Gold status after 4 stays during July, August, September on a Hilton Racing Fast Track Promotion.

I have also been learning how to best maximise my airfare purchases to achieve QF Platinum status. I travel to Thailand 2-3 times a year and was paying ~A$1400-A$1800 for airfares. Now I purchase my airfares in Thailand with significant savings.

So what if I advertise the fact that I am a QF Platinum or PC Platinum? It should not bother you. I do not understand why you have a problem with people obtaining benefits from their travel. Maybe we should all just stay in hostels/YMCA and travel Jetstar or Ryanair. Would that make you feel better?

Stick around, observe and learn. Your little 'pot shots' are not going to get you anywhere....

If you want to know "how big it is"

That would be a new thread.

Anyway, back on topic

QF Plat
Air NZ Gold
Priority Card Plat
Hertz Presidents Circle
Dont do "elite" credit cards (there aint nothin elite about them).

Gazza

QF Platinum
QF Life time Gold
HH Diamond
Hertz Presidents Circle

JB

Only 3, but they are all airlines:

QF Plat
AA Exec Plat
Aerolineas Argentineas Platino

Interestingly, QF just comped me Platinum until end of 2008, after 15 months of almost non-use.

- still can't see how knowing who belongs to the most 'groups' will help me!? The thread wasn't about how to maximise bonuses, but HOW MANY clubs do you belong to? Get it?

- Given that I am CL member with QF, I am truly not bothered by anyone else's status. Have never stayed in a hostel or ymca, so wouldn't know about those.

Stick around, observe and learn. Your little 'pot shots' are not going to get you anywhere....

- actually no point sticking around, have found out that this site is only frequented by the same old people who seem to have not much else to do but be 'bothered' and take personally silly comments that anyone puts on.

What is even better, is that the Platino booklet is in Spanish, so I can't even read it, or work out what the benefits are. However, I have worked out that it includes a handy unrestricted half-price voucher (which I have used for J, saving about $3500), and a couple of upgrade vouchers.
