How many WPs are there?

No where near as high as you think.

QF actually publish the number of WP's and CL - in the Advertising stats for AIR..

15,000 CL members and 25,000 WP's

Trust me, if it was more than that, they'd be advertising it!!

Google it, you should be able to find it easy enough... On the QMedia website

The phrase used for WP's is "25000 top echelon Platinum Frequent Flyers". Does this imply, as has been inferred in other threads, that a not all WP's received Air Magazine?

Actually that gives me an idea for an Air Magazine wake!:p

Bear in mind that as this source was selling advertising for "Air", it had a vested interest in maximising the numbers (I hesitate to say "exaggerating" but that has to be a real possibility!).

Agree 100%

Makes you think though... maybe there are less WPs than we think!

Throughout it's brief history of 6 (or was it 8 - or some other number) editions, I never received "Air". I have been WP since Oct 2005, PG since June 2006.

I guess I'd be ineligible. :p

I'm still laughing at the marketing gumpf around the air Magazine readership:

"Collectively, these select individuals represent the captains of industry and high achievers across a broad range of professions including industry, politics, arts and sport."

"....they are wealthy and discerning.'

No wonder the magazine is no longer published, the advertisers probably found out that people like me, I pretty much fail on all criteria, were receiving it!

Incidentally I received the last two copies only. Many here report not receiving it. :?:

Gee - I wonder how many useless politician's retired or otherwise make up the 15,000 CL members?

I've been WP for a few years now - received one magazine when it first came out & then nothing - just thought they stopped printing it.

Well as of this afternoon there's one more WP - me! For the first time.
Hasn't showed up on the website yet but I was 25 SCs short and I just flew BNE-SYD on a JASA (2nd leg of TSV trip) so that ought to do it.

Going by the number of people in the Business QP in BNE this morning (more packed than the pleb QP) there must be a lot of Plats or more Business flyers (or both) than I thought there were.

Congratulations on becoming a WP.

This morning one flight from BNE was cancelled and other delayed due the strikes. An disruptions typically increases the number of people in lounges.
