And in USA Priority security and boarding and skipping massive lines...not sure if that still applies.
Its worth it then.
Yep, AA still provides priority for the security queue

$450? Almost certainly not.
If you are flying Cathay, you get access to exit row seats for free which is valuable.
You may want to check that. I dont think OW Ruby members get extra luggage. That combined with more baggage allowance (which she will certainly use) made the more creative routing and slightly higher spend last year certainly worth her effort.
Hi jahane, try ringing Qantas Frequent Flyer customer service department, I rang earlier this year and was honored silver as I was sitting on my 290 SC and also 10 SC short. The CSR lady I spoke to was very nice and she even called back the 2nd day to confirm that I have been bumped to Silver. If you have upcoming trips with Qantas, it is worth to have silver status (lounge access and extra points). Don't be shy and ask Qantas, I am sure they can do the same for you.
Not good news for frequent flyers - 'orrible ears!! Get well soon!

BD
would make requalifying easier next year (250 instead of 300?) which you could make with your planned trips, more points when flying, and you get a free lounge pass or two, some ability to select seats, and a rung up from Bronze when upgrade requests are processed. Up to you to assess if it's worth it ... personally I'd try to go for it to make requal easier the following year, but $450 for 20SC, not sure.

This is genius! I wonder what the lower threshold might be for this to work or if there is written protocol on this, or more just which telephone operator you get on the day!I called up earlier this year when I was 15SC short of Gold and was offered another year of Gold. Try your luck.
