How QF might make us fly EK by improvements not enhancements

Appreciate the convenience of the one stop to Europe but my issue after traveling via Dubai twice in 12mths is that I feel bereft of much left to do on my next stopover - my third visit will be in 10 days or so. At least via SIN I felt filling in a few days was easily managed on every trip. My plan for DXB this time is to simply hang by the hotel pool as I think I've seen/ done pretty much all that's available for a short visit.

I don't love Dubai but I find Singapore incredibly dull too.

what about those that prefer to travel via the mid-east? They do exist, or those that want one stop service to anywhere in Europe? big advantage for those people.

you just can't please everyone

Actually you can, by retaining your OW connections via Asia, and offering one-stoppers the DXB option. Pretty simple really. Everyone is happy. Everyone goes the way they want. Everyone makes money.

Oh hang on, that strategy makes too many people happy, and might be profitable. Can't be a QF strategy. Apologies. Carry on...

QF strategy (or the partners' - who knows who was responsible) means that most of the codeshares via SE Asia no longer exist. And partner points were reduced even prior to the latest devaluation. And QF's "enhanced" timing has made connections impractical in some ports (eg BA connection BKK-LHR). And try booking them on the web site.
