How to apply Chase Sapphire Reserve in Australia

From what I've been able to Google and read, Chase does accept the ITIN instead of a SSN if you have one. But you might need to call them up. However most articles said they accept the 9 digital ITIN in the form field for the SSN as they are both 9 digits.

Do you mind elaborating on what criteria you met to get an ITIN?
I haven’t received an ITIN yet but I believe it. Can be applied for though consulate here and also through certifying agents - ( anecdotal evidence on this forum as well ) believe one needs to tick others reason column in form .

My youngest son started with a covered credit card with Bank of America. Since then they have released the funds held. He is a work in progress as he does not have a SSN . He will attempt to get some credit cards on his latest trip seeing his credit file should look good.

Is it necessary to start the relationship with b o a at a branch ? Or can one apply from oz ?

Not sure as my son did it in the US and not from Australia.
US Bank said No as did Chase when he wanted to get started. He uses our US address and we put him on our US Bank check account plus a letter from our building management saying he was a good character. His next go will be January and I think he will be in the US multiple times in 2020. He wants that Chase credit card.
Son’s girlfriend has a SSN. She loves the better class of travel on points that he has taught her. Her days of flying in economy have ceased.
