How to be a WP?

I think AP is dyslexic or a deliberate stirrer. Cut Pooch some slack. Correcting a dyslexic won't get anyone very far nor helpful. Correcting a stirrer just adds angst to oneself and gives more satisfaction and encouragement.
If the post is not so relevant or seems convoluted, let it pass and move on to the next. Let's all enjoy the forum and the great new day ahead.

I have no idea what if any problems AP has. I will continue to post corrections as I see fit, never causes me the slightest bit of angst.

And what if a newbie on the forum who is inexperienced with travel reads an incorrect or misleading post and follows the bad advice to his/her detriment? Corrections to such posts are absolutely necessary.

On a separate note, the Wikipedia entry for 'internet troll' includes one who "sows discord on the Internet by posting off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion". Interesting.

OP post also states he thinks it unlikely he will be able to maintain WP next year so tips on how to do this would probably be welcome.

Welcome or not that's not what the OP asked.
A post replying to his/ her question which appeared to completely miss the point is unlikely to contribute to the thread remaining on topic.

I hope then that all other threads remain 100% on topic. I can think of many threads where this has not been the case. This diversion, by several posters, as to what is and is not on topic being and example.

Back on topic, my suggestion is to make the most of the Flounges, the extra baggage allowance and priority services. You will get noticed more and the way you are remembered will depend on whether you are genuinely pleasant or behave as a DYKWIA

Nobody is saying that every thread should remain 100% on topic, you and I have both contributed to posts here which are off topic. AP's post appeared to have missed the point completely, perhaps AP read the title but not the post content for example ?

100% agree with this. I would also add to the list the ability to request Classic Award seat release as an excellent benefit of WP that the OP should make the most of in this year.

Luggage allowance, points earn from flights and take advantage of seat selection.

Also visit First lounges where practical to route that way.

Keep the WP card nicely visible in the wallet - when you're not travelling it seems to make your next trip happen sooner.

I've just reached WP for the first time, with a month to go (so I'll have it for at least 13 months, I guess).

I've done one return trip since becoming WP - SYD-BNE, in Y, on a 737 either way.

The best thing so far? Stuff the shadow, it's the cooked breakfast available in the J lounge. Nowhere else in T3 serves a cooked brekkie that includes baked beans.

Five stars!
