Hey guys,

whenever i go to change the country in the billing address section it gives me an error screen to say need to change my country of residence to the country of credit card issue. which i have. but still get the error therefore unable to progress the booking.

Trying to book dom on QF.

Anyone else encounter this? i;ve not come across this error before.

Thanks!

ah right. i should still keep the biling address state as CA ? i thought thats history...

I paid for my award with an Aussie Amex. I kept USA as country, put my street address and added a 0 to my post code. So it was 04034 which would be in Maine. So I put Maine as the state. No issues and the e-ticket was mailed within an hour.

Haven't booked through AA to redeem miles in several years.
El Segundo still works... may have to visit it one day!

I redeem on Qantas currently and pre covid also on various itins ADL/MEL-HKG-JFK ADl-PER-DOH-AMM-TLV I prefer not to try the above mentioned trick - all you need to do is place flights on hold rather than choosing to pay for the flight through the website immediately and note your PNR then call the AA Australian number with your PNR and they take card details from you directly, convert the taxes to AU$ and then there is no FX fee either on your card of choice ticket arrives next day or so - and AA is great becasue I've had to cancel several ticketed domestic QF bookings due to border closures, and last year an ADL-PER-DOH-AMM-TLV ticket. No refund fee and no change fee - AA has waive dthese the taxes appear back in your account several days after and the miles ususally credit instantly, or within a few hours Beats booking direct through OF and lower taxes and many less points in C bookings!
