How to get rid of annoying light sources in hotel rooms

I second pegs !! They are handy to keep your washing on a hanger, as well as curtains that dont meet in the middle, and securing bags in your luggage, heaps of uses ;)

I hate the bar fridge / mini bar noise...i have been known to turn it off!
That can backfire though. I turned off a noisy old fridge and next morning mrs jxv stepped out of bed into a puddle of very cold water! Accumulated ice had melted and leaked out.

If you do that put a towel against the bottom of the fridge door. I've done that a few times.

I hate sleeping in an eyeshade. I find them really uncomfortable and they don't seem to stay put on my face, so I keep waking up with it over my nose or falling off the top of my head, or pulling on my ponytail, which kind of defeats the purpose 😆.
I must just be a crazy sleeper, as many other people I know seem well able to sleep in an eyeshade 🤷‍♀️
Eye-shades vary in effectiveness. EK Y shades are useless, but the J and F are excellent.

No-eyeshades? The second pillow over the head works for me. Particularly when my other half decides to read at 3 am.

Note that red light won't penetrate eyelids so small red lights don't bother me and any smoke alarms I have seen have a flashing red light, about 40 second intervals.
