Can I stop qantas status points from expiring?

No such thing as “Qantas status points”.

There are “Qantas Points” which can remain alive so long as you continue to earn or burn points and do not leave your activity dormant for >18 months.

There are “Status Credits” which expire annually on your anniversary. Nothing can be done to stop this.

Point of correction - it is 18 months.

However the clarification remains, is the OP referring to status credits, or frequent flyer points?

All is not lost though, as QF SC will accrue (in your older years), to what they call Silver/Gold life time status credits accumulation, so say in 35 years time, if the QFF program is still around, and you do a lot of flying, still, by then, you will have "some" more benefits.
