How to tell if you are on an aircraft with the new cabin...

Had VH-VUC this morning. Interesting one, business seats, purple barrier and row 3 all fitted out with the new seats. Row 4 and rearwards old seats including L2A.

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.

I've been on this one. Wasn't an intentional fit-out, was getting completely refitted before the QF shut-down went into effect, at which point it was brought back into service.

My DJ749 MEL-OOL PE family flight just changed the aircraft map in the seating chart in my booking. Yesterday I had an exit row in 15, but this has changed. Do I have a new fitted aircraft (hopefully).

Going by this post on another thread, you have a new fitted aircraft - but maybe not BSI.
100% of my flights on a seatmap like that have been new seats (ie J cabin) fitted to a non-repainted (ie red colour scheme) aircraft. The front left bulkhead seems to be the universal indicator of whether a J cabin is fitted. Some may also find it useful to know that the relative positions of the bulkhead on the diagram aren't representative of the actual aircraft fitout - legroom is identical on both sides of row 1.

The seatmap with a bulkhead and 2+2 seating only seems to apply to Sky Interior aircraft.

I had Vh-bzg yesterday and it showed as 2+2 even though it's a refit. Not really sure if you can tell if it's bsi or not by the seat map

Haha well that shoots my theory down then. Proof that even the plural of anecdote is not equal to 'data'.

I guess BSI is not a huge issue; main one would be the seating (i.e. PE or Business).

So if the ABC Bulkhead fits ...

According to your post I will be on a BSI to CNS on Friday night... that surprises me. Let's see how it holds out.

Sorry, Liam. Old plane and fit out.

Did you fly out of Brisbane Tae? I'm not trying to defend my guide, because it is out of date. But there were a lot of aircraft swaps today.

Arrgghhh it seems i have wasted my 9,900 points to upgrade to PE from melbourne to darwin on dj1457 on dec 31, and its an old aircraft ill be on :( not the refit...

I think my return flight on january 10 is also on an old aircraft.

The map you have shown above looks like the 737-800 and should be the refit - I assume so anyway given the 1st post in this thread.

I had a bit of a kafuffle this afternoon with DJ cancelling my lovely A330 flight to Sydney and replacing it with a 737-800 and they assured me it was a refit, because I quizzed them and generally moaned... my seat selection screen looks like the one you have above, supposed to be the new J, though I remain unconvinced that there is a J "Cabin" so to speak, is there even a see through divider or chain???

i wouldnt be jolly either, if my flight was changed from a330 to 737-800.

yeah i hope mine is a refit.

Looks like I stole your plane. I was supposed to have a refitted plane according to the maps and turned up to find a spanking brand new Bsi...

yeah - out of BNE. Full plane too - well except for the two people who failed to board who just happened to be in my row. 3 seats for Taez! Pity it there was so much turbulence or I would have napped across them.

It seems all my upcomming seat maps have been changed to a standard seat map across all the aircraft.

Every 737-800 seat map looks like this:

Every 737-700 seat map looks like this:

How does this compare with everybody else, sounds to me like we can't rely on seat maps to determine what aircraft we will have.

My 737 700 was not standard in terms of its seat map Friday.

Looks like another variant of the seating plan. Seems to be a new interior. Will find out on Monday.

What the heck does this one mean? I didn't end up flying on it as I changed the date and time, so not sure what was going on!

EDIT: I realise it is a 737-700, however what is with no row 1 on the left??
