Huge Adverse Anomaly in Qantas Business Class Fares vs Emirates same flights same dates

Welcome to AFF, KevinMaitland, and thanks for posting. Useful to know about the QF fares to LGW anomaly.

The only reason, as a QFF, that you'd want to book an EK flight on a QF fare is status credits and more points. Is that what you're looking for? If you already have the status (or don't) EK crew will treat you as well or as poorly as QF, lounge access is the same, etc. Other QF points and status earning options for you might lie with QR or CX. Also noticed better QF fares to LHR recently through TAs than the QF website.

I understand fare differences and yield management but such differences are blatant rip offs, my concern is to make members aware that we are not talking small dollars but the equivalent of almost double pricing, which sends a message that loyalty is not worth maintaining but I think we all know that these days.

Welcome to the world that is AFF Kevin. With a wee bit of judicious planning you could reduce your fare cost even further (you may need to use points to buy a positioning flight) but still not necessarily fly QF metal or code share . But that’s another story.
My point is that Qantas isn’t always going to be your best / only option and while you climb that status ladder with Qantas enjoy the opportunity to fly flat with other airlines as well.

I mean it’s only 2x the price, QF sells trans Tasman J fare on Latam at 3-4x the price for the exact same flight, now that’s egregious
Yeah, was looking at a trip in November and LATAM is $739 return in J, QF want $1869 for the same flights. I don’t need the SC’s that badly
