I bought a QF flight ticket on aa.com, before the bad changes, and I think I may have a problem.
I did not load my QFF number in the booking but after it was made I phones AA to load it in. The flgiht appeared on QF website with a different booking number. I then phoned QF to get my seats and meal preference loaded. Everything was good and confirmed with the aa.com emailing the receipt for an eTicket.
The potential problem I discovered is that checkmytrip.com has the flight ticket details as follows:
Manual ticket Ticket Number 001 2121$$$$$$.
Now does this mean I have to get a paper ticket from an AA office in NZ, in Auckland I believe or that I can still turn up at the airport without it and get on the plane?

I think this is a fault of checkmytrip. I have an eticket on QF to CHC on Sun, and checkmytrip is also stating that it is a manual ticket!!

AA tickets come through as manual tickets onto checkmytrip. This does not mean that they are paper tickets.

I don't think it is an error of checkmytrip, just the way that AA issues the ticket and informs Amadeus of the ticket number

If you are in any doubt, just phone Qantas and ask if they see your reservation as being an e-ticket. I am sure the reservations staff can tell you over the phone.

Yep should be nothing to worry about.

"Manual ticket" routinely appears when another booking system has been used to make the original booking (eg booking through a travel agent using Sabre or booking through AA) and the data is imported into Amadeus. I think it may also appear when paper tickets are issued as well, but it's been a long time since I've had one.

Agree about phoning up if you have any concerns.

Thanks guys.
I phoned QF up last night and they said it was showing as an eticket on their system.
I will take all copies of the eticket just in case but I do not think there will be any problems.
