These types of schemes come along every so often and later fall over leaving tears before the flight. Try at your own risk.

Its more of a concierge service, effectively saving people from researching their own trips, rather than actual booking tickets which would need a Travel agents licence to start with.

Yeah, what's the catch? There is always a catch... (eg you no longer earn FF points, they go into the "pool" perhaps?, or SC's are no longer earned)

The catch is the $550 joining fee...

Given that you could probably get the same info for free from here (and the website owner is probably doing just that).

Given the list of airlines "Steve" has flown on I would say he may have bought a few US DM's ;)

He appears to be offering to buy miles for his clients and book reward seats for them.
I'd say there's a few folks here quite nifty at buying / obtaining and redeeming FF miles for travel in premium cabins

And to think I sent my 15 page "Guide to buying Miles" out to two friends this morning and didn't charge them a cent!

Got this email today from another friend who has just arrived in Paris
Having now completed my maiden flight on “Mhen Air” I must say it lived up to the not inconsiderable hype, even if I did not do the massage in Bangkok. I particularly liked the way the staff (3 of them) came round to each passenger (8 of us), knelt down and thanked us for flying with them, after we had arrived in Bangkok.

Thank heavens for all the free information and advice on AFF and FT

In 2013, Steve has visited; Hong Kong, Macau, Los Angeles, Washington DC, New York, Tokyo, Beijing, and soon Bangkok, London, Zurich, Seoul and a Baltic cruise (covering cities such as Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki & St Petersberg). In doing so he has amassed over 1,000,000 points. What he fails to mention is that he did this off your $550 fee. This is a great Ponzi scheme!

  • On average, approx 80% of all trips are ~A$5,000 to $5,500 total.

So if he is buying US, AA or Avianca to do it he is looking to make $2000 per ticket, plus the $550 yearly fee.

Also for the $5000 mark...one can often buy J on specials....

Re: The totally off-topic thread

So someone is offering to manage your FF points and get you first or business flights anywhere in the world for under $6000

All for $550pa

www.iflyflat.com.au

I think I prefer to manage my own but 10/10 for ingenuity maybe he's like a young Cove :)

Ok so which AFF member is he?

Drawbacks about businesses like this, is that by making it obvious, that rules and loopholes may be tightened.

However at present it is probably the ability to buy points cheap direct through several airlines during "sales" that makes his business viable. If the point sales dry up he may have a lot of unhappy members.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

For most of the dedicated people here, I doubt there is much for him to offer... but, for the time poor perhaps they might see value.

That's what I'm kind of thinking - if it's legit then it's just a service for people who don't have the time or don't want to invest the effort. (I do this myself for my parents; only thing is I mainly decide when I'll buy for them and my services come free of charge :-|).

A bit of tangent to, say, the popular bloggers who offer their services as award seat searchers (and booking agents for that matter), and also charge for such a service. (Certainly some here have used their services, e.g. for US DM redemptions).

Some people think it's starting to tread in that area of some of those weird consolidators or other kinds of "cheap Business and First tickets" businesses which sometimes buy points themselves and redeem them for customers, which is against the T&Cs of almost every FFP in the world.
