Tried sitting in 1A. Did not like it as there is nothing to see but the bulkhead and the FAs are always accessing the front storage closet. As for the souvenir BP, all that I have is the stub. What did I miss?

As for being first to get to the food, on my flight there was me and 3 others in row 4. I actually believe I got served before the other more forward rows.

Yes no tap on the shoulder with that old saying "Move over princess" should be the go.
I have only been in the middle seats when Mrscove is with me and usually we go 4A and 4K on the 747.

I really like the 747 in first. You can go straight to the champers and nuts as you don't have to play with the seat. It is still a favourite and on QF I use the ledge with seat 4A for my sleep machine and personal clobber.

Yup 4A/K on the 744 is the only F seat with decent storage. Just about everything disappears into the bassinet station between the seat and the window.

Get into the QF Fawn F PJs and slippers before takeoff if you can. Just ask the FA for your pair and use the Starboard / Right side toilet (facing the nose) to change as everybody else is boarding. Watch out for the water facet in the toilet as they are sensor operated and you can end up with wet clothes or PJs. Better to sit down to change. The FA will give you a hanger and then hang your clothes and coat in the wardrobe in the nose. I normally put my wallet and change in my shoes, which I keep by my seat or in the very big overhead locker.

On you way out from Syd, there should be an 8 course degustation menu available, which can include a wine matched to each course. I found it very enjoyable.

In 1A/K you can't see anything but the bulkhead, unless the FA opens the wardrobe door. I like to look around and see other people. Guess that is why I dislike the CX coffin J seats as the only thing you can see are the toes of the Pax across the isle from you.

Give me 4A/K any day.

Peace and quiet With your feet in the nose of a 747. It's pretty perfect for me. I don't travel with a lot of carryon.
My favourite seats are 1 A /K, 4 A/K, 3 A/K ( in order)
I avoid row 2 at all costs as I find it the squishiest part of the cabin and leaning over the poor occupant of 2E/F every time I go into the overhead locker.

What is it?

The three windows at the front, the feeling of not being one of the many, getting dinner served first, having the first number and first letter of the alphabet as your seat number!! It is a rare occurrence for me and it is one of the few occasions QF makes me feel special and valued. Maybe it's just me!
