I think this is a fail? - (No) Assistance on-Board

Whenever I book flights for my 90 year old Grandmother, I always use points to upgrade her, and then use T-80 to grab row one (B737). I just figure the bulkhead area will be much easier for her to get in and out, and she likes a window so that she can watch the world below. Never thought to call early to get her seat allocated (perhaps I should), and never thought to use Red Roo to have this request addressed earlier (but may consider this in the future). Gma is SG in her own right, but that still doesn't allow the best initial seat allocation in her situation.

Do you have an iPhone FrustratedQP? If so, I'd recommend getting the My Flights app to keep an eye on your booking: it'll notify you of any aircraft swaps or any seat re-allocations (I trust this wouldn't happen, though you wouldn't want a CL to trump your seat allocation without you knowing in advance... evidence on this forum indicates it does happen.)

Thanks Kevrosmith, I have purchased that App and will monitor.

Well, ironically it's not working well in all just now. After waiting nearly 30 minutes for assistance to get my mobility challenged 81 yo mum has had a slow walk to the lounge. A chair has been promised for lounge to plane. We shall see

That is such a shame! Stressful for both you and your mother, I'm sure. Do hope things go smoothly on the next "lap".

On the other side of the balance sheet, when I was travelling QF long haul late last year, and was temporarily immobile, the QF assistance at MEL, LAX and LHR was brilliant. I was enormously impressed.
