I will make WP today. What happens next?

Try flying CX and see how they treat - even as QF Gold I had the ISM personally greet me on all 4 CX flights I took yesterday! (Same time as greeting the CX Diamonds).
Well done

I too have had similar greetings before becoming a *anker P this week on CX

I can report succes on one of my goals.

I wanted a couple of seats back from USA in early January. None available on Classic or JASA but was successful for W and J class tix at suitable times on request at Classic points rates.

Mission accomplished (at least for a start as a WP)- Yeh:)

Just to confirm, you got W and J classic award tickets released when they were not showing as available? Or do you mean ASA tickets released at the "cheap" classic points rate?

Any exceptions to the rule?

The former was what I acheived

The latter would be a wholly grail!

so did you have to call them or it showed up online all of a sudden?

Congratz btw :)

Just made the 1400 SC's since 1 Feb QF SC year start date, so WP will happen for the first time- yeh:)

How does QF notify you/what happens from here?

What happens??? What happens??!!?? ... God kills a kitten, that's what happens. Hope you feel good now.

Like normally getting to Silver or Gold:

2. You will be sent the Plat "welcome kit" with beautiful dark card and QTags to swing off your bags - only useful domestically and check-in will ask you to take them off if traveling internationally.

 I've never been asked to undress my bag in this manner when going Int .

Neither have I? We leave on Thursday on an Aone4, so I was wondering whether I should, as I don't want bags going astray? We have a fairly hectic schedule, particularly in the USA, so not a lot of time for bags to catch up (although I am prepared for lost baggage anyway).

Your bag tag will have no effect on preventing it going astray overseas as the e-tag system only operates domestically.

I leave my tag on my bag simply as an identifier. I can't see why they should need to be removed when travelling Int.

Well it didn't seem as though it should - in fact I have just attached one to Miss FM's bag. I alway breathe a huge sign of relief when travelling internationally when I see our bags pop on the carousel.....

When I travel internationally I leave my WP etag on the bag and put an SG one on the bag also. You can't be too careful and lost baggage is a real inconvenience.

Not always.

Mine was once lost on the second last day of a 6-week AONEx. I always have good reserves in my wheel-aboard so I travelled Victoria Falls-JNB-SYD-PER very lightly and QF had my bag delivered to my door the next night :D.

Another time it was between the US and Santiago and I was continuing out to Easter Island for a few days. I just told LAN to hold it at Santiago for pickup on my return from EI - and they gave me $US200 for my trouble :D.

Last year MAD-xLHR-PEK on a DONEx and travelling with PartnerJohnM's kids (they were in Y), two of their bags got lost but the checkin agent at MAD had tagged one as mine. One or two hundred pounds for the "trouble caused to the J traveller" (no compensation would have been paid for the Y travellers) and the bags delivered the next day :D.

Woohoo, yay for me, first time ever:

Congratulations - I have removed the image that showed your QFF number ...

Hi Serfty. Was wondering what software you use to do that- remove/cover up the FF number?
