If you had a choice of VA boarding music, what ambience/vibe would you choose?

Hey everyone!

I'm crew with VA, and I'm independently putting forward ideas on the choice of music chosen as part of VA's boarding/disembarkation music.

I'd love to get your input on the style of music you'd prefer to hear when stepping onboard your next Virgin Australia flight.
Would you prefer a combination of more classical, low-key folky type music, or how would you feel hearing more downtempo/non vocal/uplifting Chill-out styled music. And do you think this type of music would be suitable to the VA brand and guests combined?Looking forward to reading what you think ;)

"Feels like home" or "Take Me" by Rufus ;)

In all honesty, something by someone like Rufus would be good. Just nothing too heavy for those early (~5am) departures.

Qantas have RUFUS on board and on their ads - but good call - great music.

Enya might be cheaper for VA? ;)

Country version of Prince's Purple Rain.

It grew on me after a couple of flights with Delta.

Break out of the Top 40!

Preferably no music at all. What is wrong with silence?

Modern techno or similar irritates many of us.

If one must have music, it should be played at extremely soft volumes and reflect one of the 1960s' greatest hits. There is lots of music airlines would never want to play with unsuitable lyrics.

'Like a virgin' by Madonna? :p

'Am I ever gonna see you face again' by The Angels.

'We gotta get out of this place' by The Animals.

Most boarding music is annoying.

The rest is very annoying :p

On one flight I Kissed A Girl And I Liked It was playing but then abruptly cut off. Silence for a minute. Then a different, presumably 'harmless', song started.

Anything by The Big Bopper, Richie Valens and/or Buddy Holly.

Silence would be golden too of course. At least until Mr Shouty starts to organise where it is he'll be waiting for his pick up.....

I think the wheels on the bus go round and round would get most people in the mood for flying...

Not that I would necessarily suggest it as boarding music, but I think the kind of music Virgin plays in its lounges fit the brand quite well. (I remember hearing Portuguese jazz music in the VA lounge a while back, but don't recall what - if anything - has been playing recently).

I rather like the current selection, never once boarded a plane that didn't have some hip, low key groove going on. I like the 60's jazz instrumentals as well, they sort of suit the style of Virgin.

I guess as long as it's not homophobic, politically incorrect, provocative, derogatory, smutty - well that probably wipes out most of the 90's, I'm happy.

Classical please. Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture may not be the best if there are dogs or people with heart conditions on board
