Can this be beat?
The association has booked out the entire joint I believe. .

Also, should I go for IHG status match now or wait til gold comes through for HH?

I'd lean to go for the match now as the offer could be pulled if oversubscribed
(assuming no chance of titanium)

I created an IHG One Rewards account while registering for the promotion, however when I logged in it still had club status. I called the support line, and they asked me to re-register for the status challenge, and after about 15 minutes the platinum status appeared

Has anyone with existing Plat status tried to register? I assume there’s no way of telling if it has stuck?

But would be a nice way to also jump to Diamond if one’s planning future stays anyway.

Signed up yesterday and status did not update. Called reservations this evening on 1800781066 and connected in a minute or two. Asked to transfer to Rewards department and that was answered straight away. I couldn't hear the (UK?) agent very well but she seemed to hear me ok. Status updated on the spot!

Was able to utilise my HH Diamond to IHG Platinum Elite and already had 1 stay (but was reward in a HIEx). Both check-in and check-out staff fawned over my status. I'll get the 5 nights easily, so I'll be happy to have it for as long as I do

I found that it took 24 hours before the upgrade was processed

I'm already Platinum Elite Ambassador. I signed up Fast Track with HH's Gold. I am going to attempt and stay 15 days to try and get IHG Diamond. I've read the T&C for the status match offer and it says all IHG One Reward members.

Had the same shown in my account.
But I have completed my 5 stays this week and it already shows the extended status until 31/12/2023.

does a 4 night consecutive stay count as 4 qualifying nights for status match promo or only 1 Q stay.... I realise 1 night is minimum for Q stay but not if sure if 1 x booking for 4 nights consecutive is treated as 1 or 4 Q stays....thank you..

I have been trying all morning to register without success. I keep getting system error message. When I called IHG, they said it is only available to people who received an invitation email.

Then I realised that I have a Hong Kong address in my profile. Once I changed it back to an Australian address, I was able to register. Lucky I did not trust the IHG support person.

Bollocks. I registered the other day (I’m already Plat and didn’t get the invite).

When are you getting the error? After you enter your email or selecting one of the programs?

I got the error message after selecting one of the programs.

I sorted it out by changing my HK address to an Aussie address. The promo is not available to Greater China residents and it includes HK.

I registered mid week and received "welcome to platinum" email about 20 minutes later.

I just checked the app and it shows Platinum until 31 December with 5 nights "to earn a reward", having "stayed" 65.

Mine showed something different. "20 nights to go". Probably because I have not stayed at any IHG properties for at least 10 years! I was a loyal Bonvoy member.

I wasn't going to sign up for this as only had 9 nights booked in the 120 days. Then realised I had 5 nights booked through Virtuoso thast count so only needed 1 extra night. No woriies swap our MEL Marriott booking to IHG. Romp it in. Will just be 1 year of diamond but we will see what it's like.

Bookings using a corporate rates code worked for me in 2019 on a similar promotion.
